I am hoping this ends up being some plot that Jonas and Bree have set up to test Daniel in some way.

and the plot thickens...

The camera isn't going to help Jonas much unless he has a computer to upload it to. And why would he take the camera? And the keys? Is there another cabin?
I think he was looking for the keys, and I'm not entirely sure that was his backpack as much as it was Jonas'.

As for uploading videos, Jonas could do one of two things (1) go back home and upload videos there or (2) stop at an internet cafe.

...

I just don't think that Jonas would have left them silently after what they did to him.
Personally, if people I met on the internet who were always on about a wacked out "Order" chasing them had tied me up non consentually in my own house and refused to release me, when I escaped, if it's available, I'm taking video evidence to the cops.

He could double back to the car while they are out looking for him, that way he doesn't have to be as concerned about them hearing the car take off. Or he can double back and lock them out of the cabin.

I would have. Bree's gone crazy. If someone tied me up for a few days, once I got loose I'd get the hell outta there as quickly and quietly as possible. They probably would've just tied him back up, but I'm sure he was afraid of what else Bree might do.

haha, I think that file cracking video is making you guys read too much into details of the video...

that post sign on the tree means nothing...

its more obvious that Daniel let him go then anything else... you can tell by the way he was reacting to the news.

it's obvious that Jonas walked to the nearest road because no one would travel a long distance on the snow... the road is the best choice, plus harder to track

The only reason Daniel followed the foot tracks with the camera is more or less to convince Bree that he had nothing to do with Jonas escaping....

he was looking out the window for a reason... he was watching out for Jonas, wanted to make sure he made it out okay.

I wouldn't be surprised if he untied Jonas, advised him to call a close friend [or Tachyon] to meet Jonas up by the back road, and take him back to his house because Bree was planning on leaving Jonas all together.

He told Jonas to take the car keys because he didn't want Bree to go searching for him down the road... chances are, they would have caught up with him and Bree would have went more crazy.

This is how the Order will get Bree...you get twenty years, or you do the ceremony.

Yikes!

Yeah, I thought of that when I first watched it... when Bree yells for Daniel, he sounds like he is a little too paranoid.

I still hope for the JonasBree ganging up on DB but

The video evidence is on the internet already. As far as the Order goes, he knows they exist, so it's not like B&D are nuts (well, not Daniel at least).

And, really, if he is innocent, going to the police might not be good for him. Especially if the Order does have people in the authorities.
longlostposter wrote:The actual angle of the shot seems to be an aerial view, not one from the ground.
I'm not sure what you mean. You can tell by the branches on the left that it's from the ground.
R1kk1 wrote:Also, Bree and Daniel were both awake, so how did Jonas manage to escape without being noticed? They both coudldn't sleep and Jonas would have had to come up those stairs Daniel went down.
JustAnotherLonelyGirl. wrote:It also looked like the place he was in was in a basement or something, so considering it was a slide door, it may have been like a garage of some sort that someone could enter from outside.
It wasn't a basement. It was just the first floor of the cabin. Notice that the backpack Daniel looked in (which was in the kitchen on the first floor) was on the same level of the house where Jonas was being kept:

Also, there's windows behind where they were keeping Jonas. In a basement that would have been somewhat necessary.

You are correct, though, R1kk1, that it's strange he got out without either B or D noticing (if that is, indeed, what happened).

I'm not the first to say this but . . .

IMO Jonas is in the order, Daniel is still brainwashed, and Jonas knows this. Daniel untied him while he was under the order's control, went upstairs and watched Jonas leave and then snapped out of it when he heard Bree's voice. Jonas left with the keys but not the car so that Bree and Daniel couldn't escape.

I'm not sure why Tachy would have taken him . . . she didn't do anything during the weekend that she and brother stayed with them. She did leave the package & knows where they are, but why would she take him without telling Bree & Daniel??

Man Jonas isn't looking too innocent after this.

Also, I think he coulda got out of the chair with the zip ties still on = if he was able to get the part connecting the chair arms apart ....if that makes sense. one of the wooden stakes holding the chair arm in place.

Lurker, it's not clear to me whether the stuff on the left in the "camera" shot is treetops or brush. Also, if that is a camera, it is being looked down at from the top? Right? Most surveillance cameras are at least 10 feet up (I would say), or else they aren't any good, right?
