My dad was a hippie, so I was lucky that I got to "like, be my own person ya know". I got support in anything I tried as long as it wasn't something harmful or anything like that.

My dad was in a rock band, but my mom made him quit (fist fight with a groupie when she was preggers with my older sis).
My mom still has issues with the fact that I went to college to be a dance teacher and not a lawyer, but my dad just wants me to be happy.
And that's what I want for my kids. As long as they respect others, they can wear and believe in whatever they want. My daughter has been picking out her own clothes since she was old enough to crawl. I can't tell you the number of times we have gone out with her wearing tap shoes, a cinderella dress and her brothers t-shirts.
I've even let my kids pick out my clothes and accessories for me (my son has a fantastic sense of style).

I have a bit of a problem. My daughter saw your avatar and now won't settle for anything other then that Barbie for her birthday. Any idea what frickin Barbie that is?
I'm not 100% sure BUT she has the face of the collection ones. look up collection barbies. usualy snow princess or disney remakes have thoes eyes and earings.
Your avatar has the face of the Original Barbie, with a slightly different hairdo (the original had a ponytail, not a braid). I've got a key chain with a small version of that Barbie on it. Depending on how old your daughter is, maybe she'd be satisfied with a keychain? The reissues of Original Barbie can be pricey.

I wasn't quite as plain 10 years ago, lol. It's just one I hadn't posted yet and Auto was fixing to tantrum.
*edit* and NO, I'm not at some burger joint, I worked in the kitchen of a pizza place in this pic.

Yep, that sure looks like it.
If only I still had my Barbies from when I was a kid . . . . I had the second edition, with the same face as on your avatar, but with a bubble hairdo. My little sister destroyed all my Barbie stuff. Imagine what it would be worth now (sigh).
