I'm not sure how Nora came up with it, but I saw what she posted and did a google search. There is information about "Apophenia" in a wiki article.

To those who have proven themselves worthy:

Find instruction within the message. Only then will you be prepared.

The first step toward any solution? The A in APHID, of course.

So do we know what the A in Aphid means? Where did Nora come up with Aphophenia?

I had thought of something earlier and when I asked another person about it, they had thought the same thing.

In her full profile she mentions the "Roman philosopher" Nomanyuos.

Nomanyuos, someone pointed out anagrams to Anonymous. So we were thinking that the A in Aphid could be Anonymous. Though I don't see that this has anything to do with the message in question. :?

If the A is a method or step in a process. What would that be? Like scientific, religious, or?

Nora may be onto something there....

Apophenia is the experience of seeing patterns or connections in random or meaningless data

So maybe we are ment to use this with the message on the phone.

So what is the pattern or connection in the phone message?

I could be on the wrong track though.

The message consists entirely of quotations from people. Somebody posted in another thread who they all were. Could it have something to do with these people's names? That's all I got...unless each quote can be anagrammed. God I hope it's not that...

I'm sorry, I totally missed this question. Now you got a message from OpAphid. Basically saying what it says now in the profile right?

Something else that just occurred to me also. Probably just stupid, but couldn't one say the first step toward any solution is to Ask questions? That's far too simple to be our "A", isn't it...?

If it's like some of the other puzzles we've seen, I think we're all gonna feel pretty stupid in that the answer is probably something simple and obvious that we totally overlooked!

Damn that OpAphid! Clever prick!
