...and why doesn't he share?
Hmm, maybe he has a world famous pizza (like his sundaes) that he sprinkles with shredded "mushrooms"?

I think Jonas was just capitalizing on a couple of well-known phrases associated with journeys and road-tripping. Those phrases have been used so many times that nobody even knows where they come from anymore, but they convey some pretty powerful images. Jonas isn't the first to use them at will. Go ahead and Google "lure of the open road" or "blacktop beckons" and you'll see what I mean.

I think he was apologizing for everything he'd done up to that point...which is just a beginning, as far as I'm concerned. :)

I think Jonas just tries too hard to get people to like and accept him. He realized he was sounding cheesey and overbearing, so he backed off.

This would fit with the hermit-like backstory the writers have presented. Since he's not around people, he's socially awkward.

OOG:

To me it sounded more like the "I'm sorry, I won't do that again" was the actor apologising for something, he was getting a bit over the top I imagine. Makes sense since they improv it all then just snip it all up.
