So you can say fucking but not f**k?

And I have an issue with "swearing at" someone. I mean, I understand not letting us say something like, "You fu*king co*cksucing hose beast!! Rot in hell, d*ck face!"..but when I said that I didn't give a "flying fu*k" about whatever I was talking about recently, I didn't think that was swearing at someone neccessarily. So.. if you're going to filter, I say filter all of it. I almost feel bad saying that or talking about this at all, but it's just not being done fairly. I don't think anyone is censoring anyone else maliciously or anything, and I don't know what the filter is doing and what you guys are doing, but it's an issue, at least for me (so I'm sure it is for other people too), so why not just eliminate all the language?

These were put in by the Creators, I'm sure with an attempt to keep things limited. It's very hard to censor everything with a filter...after all, someone could make their own word, and it checks the entire word. So it's difficult. In general, I think the goal is to keep swearing to a minimum and keep people from swearing aggresively to another user. It's a fine line, I know...and you're right, we probably don't enforce things the same every time, but we'll keep doing our best!

What? Swearing in sigs? True, still not allowed. If you mean graphics in sigs, that hasn't been allowed for a long time, long before me even. See Terryfic's long-ago post about forum policy, rules, and etiquette (which we are updating, btw): http://lonelygirl15.com/forum/viewtopic ... 6136#16136

I'm just the unliked one for enforcing the rules. :)

I don't know if I'm paranoid or something, but my word earlier was "*"ed as soon as my comment was posted. Do I somehow already have a filter but other people don't?
I am not sure, I have seen a few profanity words come through on my screen...Interesting.
You're the source the the profanity!
That's funny.......
So...what is your point? But seriously, I try to refrain from using profanity. I may use sexual references, but that is hardly profanity.

Hehehe....sometimes the references are worse. I'm not concerned about language as long as the profanity is not directed at someone. The biggest thing to be concerned with is consistancy on the forums by the Creators. No one should be called out anymore than someone else.

You would be surprised at what would pass as PG13...just take a look at the movies, A lot of that content is wayyy worse than what you see on this forum.

I almost fell over when I took my kids to watch Zathura (PG) and the little brother (probably 8) told the big brother (maybe 13) to stop being such a DICK.
