While I despise internet cliches..."jumped the shark" comes to mind.
This episode has absolutely nothing to do with the darker storyline of all the other videos...coupled with the earlier cassie statement....something tells me even Crowley is going to "go upstairs" and we will never see him again.
They had a chance to do breakthru creative work....then decided on warm & fuzzy schlock...hurray for the status quo!
I hope I'm wrong....but I'm probably not.

Sigh, I'm thinking the same thing and I hope it doesn't happen. I liked the creepier undertones.

Oh, and don't forget the way she freaked out when daniel tried to light one of the candles in front of it. Pure speculation!Burn wrote:The "whole occult thing" never did happen. I shall be seriously disappointed if they drop the ceremony subplot, and all the religious undertones from the story. I'm not going to watch a 16 year old girl grow up through a video blog. I could simply turn on the TV and pick from hundreds of shows with that plot! (The WB network comes to mind.)

I'm sure the purpose of this episode was maybe to further the closeness between Daniel and Bree creating a more intimate relationship. This may allow for the darker undertones to come back into play as they get "closer" in each other's life. I think they also did the "peppyness" of this video to contrast the darker images displayed in the recent Cassie hysteria. However, I don't believe that they have completely abandoned their storyline involving the occult. They probably did this to show that LG15 != CassieIsWatching(that's not equal in case you don't program )
As recently as the "In The Park" vid, the storyline was exploring the dark themes already brought up in previous vids. The iron pills, "Is your Dad making you take those?"-- it's all much more sinister than the last two vids. The last two vids are like the "First Blog / Dorkiness Prevails" vid-- the one the newsmedia embraced.Burn wrote: The "whole occult thing" never did happen. I am surprised that they kept the Crowley photo. I will be pleasantly surprised if they don't detour from their original plot outline, as it would show a lot of courage.
I dunno.
Even though she's walking away from her parents, and she's getting involved in some sort of ritual, and Cassie knows where she's been...
Bree wouldn't be Bree without her Breeness, y'know?
If Bree gets kissed, she's going to post a video like this.
We have to remember that in this medium, the "gutter" between videos is actually a "real life." Things happen to her every day we just don't hear about. But Bree will be Bree. And when Bree gets attacked with the yawn tactic, <___< oooh ho ho is she going to do a cute little rant about it.
I'd expect a video from Daniel not too far into the future, really. O:
When Bree first posted "Boy Problems..." there was a response about a reasonably cute-accented bee-farmer, who put out too much honey, and the ants came, and the bees flew away. O: He did the same thing! Too much honey, the ants came ;_;. I thought it was cute.
This new video is cute. I'm glad they maintain reality while trapsing onward into darkness. Besides - the 12th is a little less than a month away, still.

Why so much talk about the ceremony being axed? I don't think some of you (mostly newer members?) really get the whole way the series go. It tends to alternate between furthering the plot and Bree just being cute and funny. You get a couple videos of plot, but then it's always broken up (THANKFULLY) with some of her cuter direct-from-her-room videos like this one. It's not like she's going to be mentioning the ceremony or subtly referencing Crowley every second, that'd get tiresome.
If you came to lonelygirl for overt creepiness, you came to the wrong place. The great thing about it is you really have to look, and it's not so much in your face. For example, the picture is off to the side, hard to see and never mentioned. That a cute innocent girl like this would have his picture up though creeps everyone out in a funny way. Bree =/= Cassie. Cassie is overtly creepy and eventually went too far with it. Bree's under wraps creepiness is much better and the way it's always been.

And, yet, people (teen girls, I suppose) watch those shows, and that audience might be plenty for what the Creators were aiming for. I hope I'm wrong, but after ABC canceled a reality TV game show after only two contestants were out of the running for the grand prize (The One), I've realized anything can happen when it comes to broadcasting.ravensgrace wrote:I shall be seriously disappointed if they drop the ceremony subplot, and all the religious undertones from the story.
