I maybe convinced into the sunglasses idea. The bullet hole in the top left of the screen after the watcher falls suggest that the bullet passed through the lens and killed the watcher if it were mounted on the side of his head it wouldn't quite happen that way. I always felt the camera was head mounted.

Daniel didn't take the camera in the hotel room. He looks at the camera, he touches the camera, camera goes fuzzy, the the camera comes back live still in the hotel room and Daniel is gone.

i may be totally off base here but...

have any of you ever tried typing when you were on something?? yes yes, i know... PG series, drugs are bad, blah blah.... but what if he was shot with some sort of tranquilizer dart instead of a traditional bullet? he'd still be able to finish the transmission - though his motor skills would be severely compromised (hence all the @#&@^ and such). and he would have been completely passed out before mr. shiny shoes man arrived on the scene.

I got an answering machine. I didn't hear much, it was not a great recording, but I don't think it's anything. (Of course, I MIGHT be wrong)
