someone in chat thinks its an anagram and is working on it now.

we've tried caesar, all sorts of replacements and alphabet shifts, reverse alphabet, cryptograms, periodic table, keyboard numbers

god what else. if anyone else can help tell them waht we've tried that would be great

I'd like to point out that there's a typo in the transcription. It's Tbmx not Tmbx.

If the last word is Hurry! that part of the key would be 'obill'

There are some links to ARG resources and a really good cipher tools site on the LG15 Today blog: http://lg15today.blogspot.com
(page down to the topics "cipher tools" and "arg" on the right side)

In particular, this page has some cool tools:

As for the viles,
salt + water = ocean

and the key to decoding this clue may relate to the Dr. Seuss clue and envelope from the previous drop if nothing has been done with that yet. http://lg15today.blogspot.com/2007/04/m ... -drop.html

Where did they say that it was salt and water. I'm just curious, coz I'd like to see :D And where he tasted it.

Water is H2O and table salt is NaC1 does this help with finding a key?

they said it in chat. I don't have the log anymore but I'm sure someone else does if you ask for it.

Sowehws Hipn - Aghfil Nxblq - Lj Tmbx Ac Qwdef - 8404 - Vvzcj!

i was in the chat for a little bit last night and also proposed the theory that the periodic table of the elements has something to do with how to deceipher the message. Water (H20) and Salt (NaCl) have well known chemical formulas, so it seemed like an elegant hint. (it seems to be along the lines of the same mind that would make up a clue that connected guitar tabulature to a message, right?) Plus the msg itself kinds of reminds me of elements in a way, all the odd abbreviations. I do think there is some overlay to it also, i.e., you can't just match up elements to the msg and get something, it doesn't work.

oh, and this is very speculative and only one theory of connection: its possible Hipn or Tmbx is related to NaCl somehow, because they are the only words with 4 letters in them. Of course, that doesn't explain how H20 matches up, though H2 might be represented by Vv as the only duplicate letters.

if this leads to a drop address, the 8404 may relate to a street address.

this stuff drives me crazy. i think i shall go inhale some dihydrogen monoxide now to calm down.
