One does not need to be in the ARG to follow the series. Yes, they interact, but the series is not dependent upon the ARG. Yes, I know they are interacting more and more...but it still isn't necesarry to play the ARG to follow the series. It is possible to get the information from the ARG vids to follow the story...like Gemma's dead because she screwed up and her cover was blown. For some of the people, that's all they need to know to explain Gemma's disappearance from the series. They don't need to know the whole Oppy storyline.

well no you don't ahve to play it, not at all, but you do need to suspend your belief.
Like right now, there isn't much play anyways. We're all jsut really sitting back, and researching at clues that MIGHT have importance, like we do here i nthe plot discussion
the whole point of this debate is that to believe this is an alternative reality, we must be able to suspend out believe. having celebrities play crucial roles in the alternative realiy chances disrupting the alternative realty.

And we were for some time...and still are in many things. We haven't learned much about the Order. We still don't know the true purpose, if it's a cover up for something, etc...we don't know much more, really, we just have some neat vids to watch representing the Order. That's how LG15 fans see it...those that don't do the ARG. Some fans don't even watch anything BUT LG15. Separate, related but separate. Still, anything used in the ARG is on Oppy and Tach's end...if they use footage of the LG15 cast, it's their selection...so this doesn't necessarily have anything do to with anyhting that would be related to the ARG. Most LG15 vids don't, really, if you think about it.

You know, every time the Creators do something off the beaten path, everyone is quick to freak out (myself included!) and start yelling foul. People have threatened to leave (and actually left) over bits and pieces.

But, in the end, everything has worked out well.

Gemma came, a lot of people didn't like her. Now she's dead. (snicker)

Jonas came, he was hot, he's still here and still hot. (lol)

Oppy went cannon, people were in an uproar. It worked out. I tried watching it and catching up, but don't really follow it at all, and I still know what's going on. It's all good.

Now there is a guest "star". It sounds like a crappy idea. But I think, somehow, it will work out and everything will go on hunky dory.

And I'm betting, since there is going to be a celeb on and everyone will be watching, that this episode will be really, really good!

like i stated in an earlier post, we're all greedy fans, and we expect them to listen to us and change it because of them saying that they take their cues from us and that it is completely fan interactive.

Wow, like JayHank, I'm shocked at the craziness of some people here.
What the heck, this is a 100% certifiable Grade A move on behalf of the Creators. After what has been a series of not-so-great ones over the past months, it was extremely refreshing to have something like this happen.

People like Ziola saying "I don't want semi-famous people ruining your show" is incredibly obnoxious. Guess what, it's not YOUR show, it's The Creators. If it's any fan's show, which it's not, it sure isn't going to be yours based on you having signed up at this forum on 17 Oct 2006. That doesn't mean it was the day you became a fan, but presumably if you were a fan for a long time before then you would have gotten on board here a lot sooner. There are a still people hanging around following the series, including me, who was watching LG15 back in July or before, the first month it completely ran through (as it started in June). Someone who jumped on board in October, possibly because of OpAphid?, can hardly claim this for themselves.

As for people like Kasdeja saying I don't even see how she's famous and those who think the Creators should have kept this guest star a secret until it happened... well I think the one billion and counting articles that have appeared in the past few hours because of this should answer both of you. Check google news, lg15 would be mentioned in the odd article every couple of days maybe. Now look at it: http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&ned=u ... &scoring=d

While of course it's all the same article, it shows each place it's being mentioned. There are huge names there including MS-NBC, USA Today, the LA Times, FOX News, Washington Post, and numerous smaller outlets across the US and Canada. There are currently 130 articles and counting. Presumably this article should make it into the print pages tomorrow of at least some of them, if not a lot. I'm not sure, it's hard to say how much of the internet posted news makes the crossover to print, but judging on how liberally this story is circulated I wouldn't be surprised if it does make print too. Meanwhile lots of the American Idol fanatics who are revved up over yesterday's first episode and also a crazy new one tonight as well well likely come across this article just by searching "American Idol" since it's mentioned in the article, if not searching for McPhee herself. And there are of course numerous McPhee fans as well who'll watch.

Meanwhile, what's with all this 4th wall ARG talk about McPhee breaking it? I really don't understand that. In my opinion LG15 is not foremostly an ARG, and frankly is hardly an ARG at all as there is little "gaming" nor "interaction" occuring. For you to claim that suddenly the ARGiness is being challenged by what seems to be a short little cameo is utterly ridiculous. LG needs this to foster excitement and survive.

LG15 has been languishing lately in my opinion, the plot has gotten more and more surrealistic and more and more loose ends seem to be appearing. The McPhee guest spot should really help and is definitely a good move.

Whoa, I think before you reference me in a way that seems to assume where I stand on this...please read more of my posts, 'k? Because if you had I wouldn't be mentioned in such a way.

Since the ARG is a small (albeit dedicated) part of the lg15 audience, i guess it has to bend to McPheever. certainly this has nothing to do with whether mcphee or any fan "deserves" to be on lg15, but whether mcphee can bring in new viewers. how many american idol fans are ready

oh, and as to whether any AI runners up are famous, I guess Clay Aiken would qualify. his records apparently fly off the shelves. (And don't lie, i know you all have a copy of From Justin To Kelly on DVD ....)

not a damn thing...
if i would have read it originally in the website annoucements section, it would not have bothered me in the least. but this section is for things going on in the breeniverse, and someone (i dont care who. famous or not) guest starring is not part of the plot, it is off topic or news, but not in the plot, just a simple fact.

You know i might sound like i'm bitching about it, but really i'm kind of neutral on it. I'm waiting to see the role she has in the video. Becuase that really will determine if it is really a good diea.
but i am disappointed in the creators or her management...whoever was first...to alert the media on this. A lot of people liked the element of surprise with the series...and this really spoiled a lot of the surprises we enjoy. We now know when the video is going to be posted and what they are going to be doing...it's a little frustrating.

dont worry, kasdeja, i'm with you. AI is a farce, and "From Justin to Kelly" (referring to kelly clarkson and justin guarini of the first season of AI) was a complete bomb. AI's only redeeming value for purposes of lg15 is its incredible popularity.

• For those who are disappointed about Katherin McPhee, just be happy that it's not American Idol's William Hung as the guest star.
  
• For those of you who were desperate for a schedule of when videos are posted, be happy that you know that a video is coming on on Friday.
• For those of you who are excited about sexy women, be happy that sexy Katherine McPhee will be joining for an episode (perhaps sexily attired).
