I have to admit, that even though Bree and Daniel have gone off the deep end, I really liked that video.
This may sound mean, but I actually enjoyed seing Jules being tied up + screaming for help. She makes us suffer each time she puts out a vid(acting-wise), so I figure it's her turn to suffer.
Anyways, I loved Jonas being the "voice of reason"/comic relief. He actually made me crack up a few times with the 6 Flags thing.
I hope they put out a new vid tonight, cause I'm getting anxious to see what happens next. (Wow it's been a long time since I've said that)
Oh, BTW, where were Sarah and Taylor and how do they feel about BDJ kidnapping little girls?

So if you're the "new girl" then you get to be tied up by Daniel and Jonas?
>_>
<_<
Kinky!

Okay, that's an awesome title for them. Kudos if you came up with that.
I disagree with the rest of what you said (I think we're more likely to see important developments in a scenario like this, and they'd be infinitely more interesting in one like this instead of one where they find it in a cupboard), but that title is good stuff.
kwicherbichen wrote:3) And who the f**k are they to say whether or not the ceremony is actually detrimental?
Even if these people weren't willing to kill in order to have their little virginal teen parties, there's been other stuff to indicate that this causes death (refer to Gemma's story about Tachyon's family in "They Disappeared" and Tachyon's later comment that her sister's dutiful nature got her something unfortunate).

Julie has to be a trap. There's no watcher, no nothing, and if they sack their house they'll find JACK SHIT.
The Order wants them to do something like this, they know they're getting desperate and think their job is to save all the little girls in the world from the Order.
Bree & Co. are going to go to jail, and the only way they'll get out is if Bree does the ceremony.

I'd like to know why the Creators feel the need to villify Bree and Daniel? Is it so that we will begin to like Jules and become less harsh towards her and her videos?
If that's the case then I feel they have failed. Most people still don't like Jules and I know it's left me a little confused about Bree and Daniel.

Well I enjoyed the video a lot- it was actually really funny. Yeah, Bree and Daniel aren't thinking at all but you can understand why they chose to do this. They're pretty much desperate at this point. And Jonas as the voice of reason was very cool.
What I thought was interesting was Daniel saying, "I don't think you can understand it unless you've lived it."
Well, considering Jonas has also been tied up by D and B... I'm not surprised he's against the idea.

In Mexico couldn't they have just pointed guns at Jonas and Daniel's heads and said "Do it or we cap them" if that were the case? They already did something very similar with Daniel once. I think this is for real.
kjones wrote:I'd like to know why the Creators feel the need to villify Bree and Daniel?
Whoa, whoa, whoa. Presenting good-intentioned people with a situation that has zero simple and clean options, only for them to take the one that - out of the available options - is most detrimental to themselves and more beneficial for their intended rescuee is vilifying them?
Sure, it's presenting them with a moral quandry and letting them make a decision that's less-than-squeaky clean, but this is not vilifying.

We still need somebody to photoshop the gang on a rollercoaster, though, with Jules still tied up. Anybody up for it?

Haha I totally want an avatar of Jules banging on the sliding glass door for help.

, but i think the whole thing is a scam. maybe in the folder there was a note asking for help, and this is how they're helping. they kidnapped her, and posted this video just to make it SEEM like a kidnapping. when actually they are about to gather some much needed information....
Just a thought...
I hope you're right because if it wasn't a scam... they're pretty freaking stupid. I mean, it's bad enough kidnapping this girl, but they have to go in there with a
video camera??
And they posted the vid as a
public video. Either something else is going on here, or the TAAG (two-thirds of them at least) are complete idiots.
Lurker wrote:I'm thinking they thought they were working within the window of only a few days because of Jules' comment about restrictions on May 3. In any case, this is way more interesting than if Jules was actually begging to be saved from the ceremony, and it's more thought-provoking in terms of whether the characters can still feel like they completely have the moral highground (which they had maintained up to now).
More than just give the plot a push of progress, this gave Bree's character one too. She chose to kidnap a terrified kid rather than leave her to what she thought would be death.
Let's
hope she thought it would be death. If she and DB were willing to kidnap Jules for any reason less than impending death, then their characters are developing in a very scary way, and they need to be brought down. Hard.

Hm. Interesting point. Does this mean that she's accustomed to having people she knows show up at her house and hog-tie her?
So much for that "purity bond" . . .
Aponi wrote:And uh, no one else wonders why Jules is carrying around papers with her address on them? She was seeing a 'tutor', wouldn't she just have say like, biology homework?
Well, maybe her tutor has all of his/her students put their contact info on the hard copies of work they turn in. Or maybe Jules prints out her homework assignments on her own letterhead. I can see there being a logical explanation for this -- unlike the "I don't know you!" screams.
tailortaru wrote:if the next video isn't entitled "it's a murder" then I'm out for sure.
Heh. Well, one of my first reactions to the kidnapping (and I have to chime in that yes, under the law this is indeed kidnapping) was, "Oh, I hope they're not going to stick Jules in the trunk of a car to transport her somewhere. Especially in the Texas heat. If they do, they're going to wind up with a body on their hands, and be running from the law
and the Order."
Luminous wrote:What I find insane is that the writers actually imagined this stuff and chose to take the story in this direction, when instead they could have used the bunker as an opportunity to do some in depth investigation and provided us with some real plot and character development to move the story forward.
I find this new development contrived and pointless. I convinced now, more than ever, that we will never really get any answers to the plethora of unanswered questions they continue to inundate us with over the course of this series. Not like I've been expecting any - I gave up on that long ago, but still it's disappointing.
Well said, Luminous. I hope you're wrong, but I suspect you're right.
We shall see, I suppose.

Yeah, I kind of have to agree that the fear of her imminent death is the only way this was absolutely the right thing to do (which I will definitely stand by if it turns out to be what they were afraid of). Otherwise, I would think they should have followed her to the ceremony and intervened if it looked like she was in danger at that point.
So far I think that must have been their reason. At least I hope so, what with how this incident has caused me to actually defend Bree's actions for once.

Depends on how you define "canon." In the traditional sense that she's considered part of the same world/universe/whatever, yes. But I think the Creators use the word in a different way (probably to mean that they don't actually make it themselves). I've been dying to ask them how they use it, actually.
