Best thing so far.
But would that mean their "father" disapproves ("DO IT TO THEIR FATHER'S SHAME")?

So, final version as far as we can tell:
CHANWATTNEM | CADENUDENTHRYSTURSE,
What men can't | understand they curse,
CABASKETCHSWUR EVISEWNORS.
what curses back | is even worse.
CHAHWATTTEKNEY | BEAEHWHISTTTIN
when they attack | the beast within
BEAHEWHISTTOTTU | ABBETHOSSSRIN.
the beast without | absorbs the sin.
DEEHHIYINTRITOT | FANTSREHAME,

OMG! I'm so freaking jealous!!! I saw that in the red/black image that both lines start with "They" so I was trying to work out any/every possibility with that and you freaking beat me to it. Now I'm sad. It's been like 20 minutes and I feel like a tard. BTW, if you compare this poem to the image, every line matches now... so that's good.pcbbc wrote:SO:

not sure if everyone went to bed or if people are still up reading this, but i thought of something on the interpretation side (perhaps this should be in a new thread)...
assuming that throughout the poem "they" is referring to the "men" who "can't understand," perhaps the "father" in the poem should be capitalized, as in Father = God.
so they curse what they can't understand in God's name, but this is to God's shame/disapproval.
anyone think that makes sense?

Unless you all disagree, I think we should keep each clue to one thread. When the [SOLVED] tag is added the solution is edited into the first post, and the thread can be used for interpretations.mobilesskwrking wrote:(perhaps this should be in a new thread)
Simply because right now we're dealing with six poems and a couple of pictures on the Puzzle side of things, and it would add up to 16 threads. Best to keep everything in one place so long as we add the important information to the first post.

Another thought I had was related to some of the discussion I've skimmed on the boards about what kind of guy Crowley was. It could refer to him - Bree does have his picture by what seems to be her altar, so it seems okay to make the jump to possibly what they do, they do in Crowley's name. But maybe it's something Crowley would never advocate.
Team Daniel!

ok, so I was thinking about how this could be related to Frank and this is what I've come up with:
Frank has been emailing people with the name Frank Beast (I realize we don't know whether those emails are legit or not yet, but just assuming they are...)
so perhaps the "Beast within" is Cassie (who has possessed Frank) and the men who can't understand the fact that Frank has been possessed curse and attack him (he has implied in his blog that everyone, even his wife, thinks he's crazy and has abandoned him), and the "Beast without" is Frank, who must absorb/bare the burden of their sin (cursing/attacking him) in so much as he has lost everything (wife, job, etc.) b/c they don't understand but rather curse/attack him for it.
we've been assuming that the sin is that of the beast within/without, but perhaps the sin is of the men who can't understand/curse/attack...this interpretation of the sin fits nicely with the idea that they do it in their Father's (God's) name, but God disapproves.

Never mind.
(*takes English degree and goes home*)
You can just count this as some random, nonsensical post, because I got ahead of myself and posted without reading on. Shame on me.
