i dont know if the books need to be read since 'the answer is before you' - i dunno just a gut feeling its going to be something subtle in an obvious place

I have all the books, but they are at my parents house. If we can get a list of all of them, I can probably have them read by the end of the weekend....

Also, I can't tell if that is X's and O's before the T in the note. I blew it up, but it just too blurry.

well something to keep in mind is that if you only needed one of the books the package would probably only have one of the books in it.
i'm thinking it is a bit more obvious than having to read them, but i think it's collective. i'm honestly stumped with this, though.

Could it be an anagram of the titles we can see, or all of them that leads us to the password?

If I had to guess, I would say that maybe Nancy overlooks a clue and then has to solve it (hence the subtlety), and that the clue itself, or the way she solves it, will help us with our own mystery.
Unfortunately, I don't have access to the books right now. Is there anyone (imagin, I'm kind of looking at you) who could do some quick reading? I think we should start with "The Clue in the Diary," since that's the one Daniel was reading.
I think the opposite, actually. That's exactly what Daniel is doing and that's probably what anyone that isn't accustomed to looking for hidden clues would do first. "I have the books so I'll read the books." It just seems to obvious. Maybe the reason why Daniel is doing the obvious is so we won't have to do or shouldn't do.
*shrugs*

I was thinking along the same lines as you, especially if this is an XX/Xy puzzle. I'd imagine that the book numbers could represent the X's. As for the y's...I have no clue on that one.

Deja posted this in "Jonas Sucks", not sure if here, or Videos:
I think obviously the one is Secret of the Forgotten City, which I said is about the kids searching for Gold in Nevada/Las Vegas.
The one looks like Password to Larkspur Lane, which is about a old lady being held prisoner in a mansion and a strange clue that Nancy has sent to her (Blue bells will be singing horses!).
There has been so much about gold and yellow these last few days.

This is goddamn frustrating.. someone find the answer already.
I've tried (in uppercase and lowercase letters)
language
hieroglyphics
symbols
egypt
thelema
denderah
writing
alphabet
enochian
equinox
father
... all keeping in teh theme with the file title, and then I was thinking about when Bree had to learn symbols or whatever.. IDK

ok well assuming this is right and that the fifth book is the first in the series then the books daniel has are:
The Secret of the Old Clock - #01
The Clue in the Diary - #07
The Password to Lackspur Lanen - #10
The Quest of the Missing Map - #19
The Secret of the Forgotten City - #52
