You know what, one thing that bothers me is that these kids spend hours making videos, editing them, and their parents just don't care? I'm 25 years old and still my mom would be at least curious to see what are the videos all about...
Buuuut that's fiction's prerogative.
Its true though...we all over analyze and make up this crazy things..a good example was how we all speculated over what the ceremony was going to be about.
Even though the videos aren't real, they do have to stick with some realism. I forget how old Daniel is, but I know he doesn't live by himself. He must live with his parents. Even though he can drive, the parents also can take his keys away and tell him he isn't going anywhere.

I just don't think that's too realistic. I may have gotten into trouble after graduating, but my parents didn't take away my things. After all, I wasn't exactly a child and such, anymore. I worked, etc. I assume daniel either goes to work or college...I just don't see parents treating a kid that age like a high schooler or younger...

My parents tried. I left, and came back a few years later to say hello after graduating from college.

But your different. Your a penguin. =P
My parents treated my sister like that. It was something along the lines of "you live under my roof--you go by my rules" kind of thing.
And if Daniel told his parents he might be in danger, they could have 1) put their foot down or 2) moved him away or tried to hid him for a little while.

No, I still had the rules of the house...but they didn't take my things away to punish me as if I were a school kid. And I had extremely strict parents...well...mother.

Whoa I just thought of something. What if Daniel left his parents a note saying he would be going out with friends. But really he was forced to write the note. Instead he has been kidnapped by the Order and is being held captive. A few days later his parents call Bree and ask her if she knows anything because they called his friends and they knew nothing about the little "trip". Dun dun dun dun...

im just thinking from the storys point of view. if daniels at home this whole time that would just be boring. i dont think "The Creators"(i like the diety-like intonation of putting it in quotes like that) had that in line

I don't see anything too unrealistic about this. There are still plenty of parents out there who a. are still completely clueless about any form of scary technology such as computers, and/or b. completely oblivious to what their kids do with their lives. I mean come on, teenagers do far worse things on a daily basis than post freaky youtube videos. Things which make the evening news, and which never would have happened had the parents been even remotely involved in the kids' lives.
Edit: In fact I believe it's even stated in the vid where Bree's dad has a "talk" with Daniel that he (Bree's dad) wouldn't know a webcam if it jumped up and bit him on the cassie. So her parents at least have no clue what she's doing when she makes videos.

True, it'd be "boring"...but it could lead to other things...like Daniel sneaking out to meet Bree in the park or something.
Maybe Bree should start reading the forums too. =P
PS: this is my 100th post
