I'm not sure what you mean by this. I hope you didn't mean that girls are the least trustworthy people around. I don't think it's what you meant to emphasize, but I don't want to put words in your mouth, and I'm curious. :?:

No I'm pretty sure that OtoBnAGGIE meant that the most gossipy people in the world are teenage girls, and as a teenage girl, most of the girls I know are crazy gossipy.

Is it really evil though? I think it's pretty much just different from what everyone's used to. Sure they're secretive and everything but...
The fact that Bree has to say you don't know what your dealing with and that she is worrying about his saftey i think its not much of a stretch to say they are evil

I think that suggests "they" are potentially dangerous, but that's not necessarily the same as evil.

If the society was so secret then why would they invite daniel to tape brees play thingy? the only way that could make sense is if that was for bree's parent's religion and the order is some kind of offshoot.
I wouldn't say an offshoot more of a lower level. At risk of going back to secret society stuff. things can only be SO secret or they would never have any members. going back to the Masons (no I am not saying this has anything to do with masons) They are very out in the public people. You see the symbols everywhere they have the logos on their cars, they do the parades, fish frys...It's not really SECERET, but the stuff that goes on behind closed doors is the "secret" stuff. If you choose to believe that anything is up with the Masons or not is your call but I'm saying this from the cliche mythology of what the Freemasons are for the sake of argument.

so going back to Daniel filming, most parents aren't gong to willfully put their kids in harms way. So it makes sense that if there are this kid camps it's going to be some what harmless. A place that is welcome for you to bring the grandparents and friends to see little Bree preform on stage and make everyone feel warm and fuzzy.

You might be right, but I'm just not holding my breath that the creators are going for this multi layered, shades of grey, no good side or bad side look at dark art religions or what ever you want to call this.

I think it will be pretty clear cut that Dan is good, they are bad, Bree is lost in the middle and needing to be rescued..or atleast shown the truth.

well, i was liking ciw better than lg15, but now is the other way around.

I dunno if some secret groups will go FAR in order to keep their groups a secret, but remember that there are always some fanatics out there. This group bree is in might be a lil fanatic and thats why bree is worried about daniel. Someone suggested daniel talking to the parents. Well i think the parents are not going to find anything bad, after all is their religion or beliefs. They might be a lil fanatic too, think about it, giving your daughter away to a group and who knows what they did to her, YES, SHE WAS TAKING PILLS AND SHOTS remember?.

You know, you don't need to be a fanatic. Just need to be CIA for instance....or KGB, or Mossad, or whatever...you got the idea. You just need to have a REASON (citing Bree here) to be secretive. Now, regarding religious groups, a religion has no interest in being secret! I never read about any secret religion in history, except...when beside religion, these groups have other motivations (political or criminal). Still fits my theory

On the subject of secrecy, I think most religions are quite upfront about their beliefs. But I'm thinking that this is more of a cult than a religion.

Yes, it's been implied that it's been around forever, but how hard is it to convince people that a "religion" has been around for centuries or is based on ancient practices? Well, how many teens are out there telling their friends that they are Wiccan and practicing an ancient religion? (not saying that all Wiccan teens believe that, just that there are some out there that believe that misinformation).

Maybe this is just a cult started in the 60's or 70's that the leader has convinced everyone that they are practicing something ancient, and they've thrown in some aspects from other religions and have taken on other religious/cult icons (like Crowley) to add a legitimate feel to it.

I mean, I could start a cult that worships a head of cabage and call it the Order of Thor and I bet I could get someone out there to subscribe to it.

Anyway, after all that blathering, I'm just suggesting that maybe there is no one set religion that the creators are following. Maybe they are creating their own seperate cult religion that fits the needs of the story line (and doesn't piss off any people by reshaping a real religion to fit in it). Just a thought.
