Ha, being biblical doesn't make it not odd, (not to mention that looking at semantics in the bible can be incredibly sketchy because of varying translations). That makes sense, though, for the sake of added drama.
Well, most translations have something similar to the quote I used. I'm thinking it's one of the less ambiguous sentences in the Bible.
I guess it would sound a little odd coming from your aunt, or just about anyone, for that matter, but how many people are talking about the wrath of a secret pseudoreligious organization raining down on the oppositions' heads?
Hehe, point taken.

I don't think the wording is odd. As has been mentioned earlier, it was a very biblical way to phrase things. And you know what they say about biblical proportions.
"I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me will come one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire. His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor, gathering his wheat into the barn and burning up the chaff with unquenchable fire." - Matthew 3:11-12
Ha, being biblical doesn't make it not odd. That makes sense, though, for the sake of added dramatic effect.
That's the point, Pinko, we thought Alex's word was odd, and that is why we thought it might be tied to these Bible verses.

Back in "The Anti-Cribs" he said that he continued to live at his house with an appointed nanny (she was his guardian at that point), and that she went to live closer to her grandkids when Jonas turned 18.
I wonder who appointed the nanny!!
Unless his parents did.
Hmm. How did she get paid? Hmm.

Slight mistake on my part. Apparently he already had this nanny and she was just appointed as his guardian after his parents vanished.
I'd assume she was getting paid already through an automatic direct deposit sort of thing. That probably just continued until she left.

I would suppose out of the estate that Jonas has been living off of.

Dammit! I need to stick around the computer a little more... I just saw the video and I can say it's my favorite and one of the best.
A lot of plot twists, I was pretty sure that she was not bad... but I was wrong. This makes the story more interesting.
You can totally notice the change in her voice... and the stare when Daniel walked in the room let me know right away that she was bad...
EDIT: just wanted to ask what she meant by something will be coming after her... anybody have any ideas? is it people from the order...?

This is the most impactful (is that a word?) video for me so far.
Did anyone notice the ever present white orchid behind Daniel. Looks just like the one in Jonas' kitchen. Strange.
I just feel SO BAD for Jonas.
I do wonder if Alex is just messing with Jonas' head at this point. His parents are missing, so she could be lying about them being happy etc. He was on the attack, this may be her attempt to throw him off so that she can regroup.
She is so cruel.

We know Alex changed the course of her life around 26
How old is she now? What is the age difference between herself and her nephew. When did her marriage end?
Toby the cousin last saw Jonas at the funeral. How long ago did Jonas parents "die"?
Jonas is 19. So he would be ___ at the time of his parents alleged boating accident.
Was there a date mentioned at the time of the uprising against the Order?
He hasn't seen her since he was 13 because after the disappearance it got awkward. So, six years since they saw eachother.
Why didn't the aunt do anything against the order? Jonas says in 'my hand hurts'. Then he says 'she wasn't much older than me at the time'.
So she was older than 19 6 years ago, but not by much.
We know she is older than 26 now so my guess is she is only about 27 or 28. She is in her 'late 20's' and therefor talks about being in her 'mid 20's' as if it is in the past.
That means she was 21 or 22 when Jonas's parents disappeared and now, 6 years later she is 27 or 28.
I figured this rough time frame from re-watching the video 'my hand hurts'.
There is nothing that says she is in her late 20s. You could very well talk about "mid 20s" when you are in your 30s (and still look that good minus the oiliness o_o).
If his parents disappeared when he was 13, who who WHO had custody over him as a MINOR and where are they?
I wonder if the "funeral" is Jonas's parents' fake funeral. She (oily face) says "i couldn't have killed your parents" meaning everyone must think they are dead!
First of all:
There is nothing that says she is in her late 20s. You could very well talk about "mid 20s" when you are in your 30s (and still look that good minus the oiliness o_o).
He said the reason she might not have done anything against the order 6 years ago is she wasn't much older then than he is now. He is 19, so 'not much older' puts her at around age 21 or 22. Much beyond age 22 you can't use youth as an excuse for not doing the right thing any more.
Second of all:
If his parents disappeared when he was 13, who who WHO had custody over him as a MINOR and where are they?
He said in an earlier video that he had a nanny who took care of him until he was 18. When he reached age 18 she left because she wanted to be near her own children and grandchildren.

:slinks from the shadows, to borrow a friend's term:
Hi all.
I knew something was up before Alex's monologue.
"the what order?"
this jump out as just not right?
Groups that have "order" in the name tend to be "the order of the whatever", not "the whatever order".
If you want all my theories, look 'em up on the discussion page for this episode on lgpedia.
