I don't think Bree is necessarily brainwashed, so much as depressed and starved for any kind of affirmation. The poor girl had a friend, one friend, who first made her decieve and contradict her parents then basically dumped her. Then she finally meets a person who is 'helping' her to get back on her feet (no matter what kind of feet they are) and she is so grateful she'll do anything this lady says. So, in a way it's brainwashing, but in another it's just a person taking advantage of a girl when she's at her lowest.

Daniel needs to get his act together, stop putting Bree down, and kick this lady's ass! :P

Bree has shown that she is highly intelligent and a deep thinker. I doubt she could be brainwashed easily. She knows what the world outside is like; she has access to YouTube for goodness sakes. I believe Bree truly wants what is happening to her.

I think she is.
Even though Bree can do things on her own, and seems to be very smart; I think that due to her parenst and her religion, she can be tricked a little.
She also wants to make her parents happy, and if listening to Lucy does that, then she will

i agree with mousegirl...the way at the end of the video, she was telling Daniel to stay away isnt like Bree at all....she'd want to sort it out.

I think Lucy is talking her into believing Daniel=Bad. And trying to brainwash her, yes. She didn't seem herself at all in that video, and since that was the first one since she said she was going to stop, I'm a little more than suspicious.

i think lucy might not be brainwashing so much as a strong believer in what is going on, i mean you cant really get someoone to believe you unless you yourself believe it. besides all that bree said herself that she has been religious her whole life, when something has been thier your whole life, you tend to want it to stay there, think about how upset kids get when they have to move. only this time its your entire set of beliefs AND the only people who have been there for you the whole time. its not an easy think to go against people you have always trusted to be right.

I think it's time to bump this back up to the top  . Here's my take on Lucy. First, she is not merely a helper. She is either a high-ranking member of the Order or she reports directly to a high-ranking Order member. Lucy begins training Bree for the fake ceremony because the Order needs someone to prepare Bree for her new role in the Order. She escorts Bree's nonbiological parents into an Order car because she assigned herself to Bree and her nonbiological parents as an Overseer of them, or the Order assigned her to them. Here's where things get hazy. We don't really know what the ceremony was intended to prepare Bree for, but most here have speculated that it's either a generic initiation ceremony for everyone in the Order, a divinity/royalty ceremony or a ceremony tailored to Bree's status as an experimental super-being or what-have-you. Lucy's identity changes with each scenario. Here's the breakdown.

Scenario #1: Lucy is truly just a helper chosen by the Order to guide Bree through the ceremony and then through any other stages of her integration into the Order.

Scenario #2: Lucy is a high-ranking Order member who has assigned herself to oversee Bree and her nonbiological parents, or the Order assigned her to act as Bree's consort

Scenario #3: Lucy is a member of the scientist team that created Bree, and is supervising her and testing her to make sure she can properly integrate herself into the order.

We also don't know why Lucy escorted Bree's parents into the Order car, and where she took them afterward. But here are my theories, based on the three scenarios:

Scenario #1: Lucy placed Bree's parents in a detention facility to hold them while she and others tried to Bree and continue to integrate her into the Order

Scenario #2: Lucy placed Bree's parents in some sort of prison (actual prison, commune, gated community, etc.) because they had accomplished their role as parents and the Order no longer needed them. Lucy is either the "warden" of this prison or reports directly to the warden.

Scenario #3: Similar to the above, but maybe because Lucy is not as powerful, she is not the warden.

I think that of these scenarios, #2 and #3 are most likely, since most of the clues about Bree's true identity have suggested that she is special. If you guys want, I can create separate threads for these scenarios, and we can speculate on developments involving Lucy that apply to one or both of the scenarios.
