Maybe she posted that note in the church (has it been confirmed that it was actually Cassie who put it there?) because we haven't found every clue in the painting. For example, even with the "Frank has a blog I have a second life" clue, there are still at least two letters, B and E, that still haven't been used.

Also, does anybody know if the passage actually appears in the Bible in paragraph form? Could there be some letters capitalized that aren't supposed to be, that sort of thing?

I'm thinking she made Rev. 3 to point us to second life because it was taking to long to find the drop/she wasn't sure it would be found. of course, the "instructions are on the painting frame" confuses the issue... maybe we need to be paying attention to the actual passage quoted, as well as the letters missing? It wouldn't be the first time she sent out a puzzle with 2 solutions.
is the painting frame not missing?

The frame isn't exactly missing, is it? Frank said someone took the painting and left the frame. There's something we're missing, something that will take us to the frame. I'm almost positive the lead is in SL. It kept crashing on me so unfortunately I wasn't able to explore as much as I wanted.

Good point, Danielle! Didn't Frank say that whoever took the painting from his house left the frame? Could this be what Cassie means?

If so, Frank is certainly not dead, since (other than Cassie) it's not going to be possible to get a painting frame from a dead person.

The SL frame detail has certainly not been confirmed as Cassie.
Also appears that the frame mention was not there yesterday.

I too agree this is essentially what was happening. The pace was falling behind...

* The first "second life" clue was decoded from the "Where" puzzle a week ago, but there didn't seem to be consensus on the answer. Someone mentioned then that Cassie would be really hard to find since Second Life is so vast. Though the anagram also had a "Codes to Serapis" solution.

* The drop clue wasn't found as quickly as hoped (after Rev 3)

* Rev 3 giving away Cassie in Second Life and her location from her avatar name.

There are two "frames"- there is the wooden frame that the canvas is stapled to and that keeps it taut-- this is what the revelations quote is written on. Then there is the decorative frame, which is what Frank referenced having been left behind in his hotel room when the picture was "stolen". I don't think we are supposed to find the decorative frame. We have the drop, the message written on it's "frame" is what we were supposed to find and interpret.

Was the clue left on the wood frame concealed beneath the canvas or in plain sight?

I would consider that to be the matting. The frame is generally on the outside of the painting, the matting can be the wood to hold the painting to the frame.

luma: Cu posted an pic. but I can't find it. the writing was plainly visible on the back.

gelb9: I thought matting was the layer(s) of cardboardy stuff between the picture and the frame (for decorative purpose and also to keep the picture from touching the glass).

Also, my clarification was more one of how people have been using the word "frame" in this discussion, rather than one of technical terms.

Sorry to make a long post, but here's my solution to the missing letters. The ones that I added are in red. The rest should be exactly from CuRoi's transcription. Hopefully I didn't miss any letters.

The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signi[f]ied it by his angel unto his seRvant John: Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he sAw. Blessed is he that readeth, aNd they that hear the words of this prophecy, and Keep those tHings which Are written therein: for the time iS at hand. John to the seven churches which Are in Asia: Grace Be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne; And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own Blood, And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion fOr ever and ever. Amen. Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the endinG, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. I, John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, a[nd] for the testimony of Jesus Christ. I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and HeArd behind me a great Voice, as of a trumpEt, Saying, I Am Alpha and Omega, the first and the laSt: and, What thou sEest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches whiCh are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and untO Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, aND unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea. And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candLesticks; And In the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a FlamE of firE;

So, based on these missing letters, I get:
RANKHASABBOGIHAVEASECONDLIFEE
I'm guessing Rick's reading is pretty good. It definitely has to do with the Second Life clue, and the questionable "F" probably was meant to be included. There are still a couple extra letters, and we don't have an "L" for "blog", but it looks like it wasn't an anagram, but was meant to be read in order.
