Surprised no one said that since Bree is a nickname for it.
Someone has said that xD

I think its short for Gabriella or Gabrielle personally as it has more biblical references
Why do you think it has to be biblical??? Bree's family are satanist or occultist of some kind, not jews or christians. That's why i think it's probably Sabrina. I know 3 girls named Sabrina, all 3 who's families are into wicca/occult/satanism type stuff. Oh and the all are somtimes called bree
I really don't think they're Satanists

Misty, we were leaning towards a name refering to the Bible somehow because most of the names can be found in the Bible...so far, anyways. It was just a theory, not an attack on whether or not Bree and her family were Satan worshippers or not.

well lets take a survey

Daniel: mentioned in the bible
Cassie: not mentioned in the bible
Jonas: varient of Jonah, which is mentioned in the bible
Lucy: not mentioned in the bible
Gemma: not mentioned in the bible
Franklin: not mentioned in the bible
Paul: mentioned in the bible
Andrea: not mentioned in the bible

Owen: not mentioned in the bible
P. Monkey: not mentioned in the bible
Thor: not mentioned in the bible

So there doesn't appear to be a biblical pattern at all
Paul and daniel are comon names part from the bible , and Jonas is only a varient of a biblical name.

And in the bible, Gabriel is a masculine name, of an archangel, and not a girls name at all.

So I don't think it's a very good candidate for bree's full name.

some of the names can be a varient of names that are mentioned in the bible.

Also, there is Gabriella which is a girls name and can be assosciated with the bible.

Oh, yeah? which ones?

WTF does "asssociated with the bible mean"? There's NO Gabriella in the Bible!!! There was a a Gabriella on TV show Xena Warrior Princess, (and and a Jonas, and they even had monkeys), so maybe there's a Xena theme :P

"The Italian female given name Gabriella (or Gabriela) comes from the Hebrew name Gabriel."

other examples: Danielle is the female variant of the male name Daniel
- Antonia comes from the name, and is a femal version of Anthony.
You can find all sorts of pages on names on the internet, or simply use wikipedia.

AND THAT IS WHAT BA MEANS BY "One name can be assosiated with another name"

Gabriella is assosiated with Gabriel, and Gabriel is assosiated with the bible

'form' the name Gabriel. A female form of the name Gabriel!

Ok I see that point, but its still is a far cry from making the argument that:
1) the creators intended the characters to have biblical names (I've shown that the pattern doesn't hold up, so theres no reason to assume they had that intent)
2) the creators thought of Gabriella as a good biblical name to use (the connection of the name Gabriella to the bible is still a weak one even with what you said)
3) the creators thouht bree was a good nickname for Gabriella (I've never heard of Bree being a nickname for Gabriella)

you should do some reasearch. If you google 'name gabriella meaning' there will be alot of hits.

check this sites: http://babyparenting.about.com/cs/getti ... riella.htm ->"Meaning: Woman of God"

http://www.andythenamebender.com/name-m ... briela.htm -> Meaning: God's able-bodied one. Feminine of Gabriel.

http://www.mybirthcare.com/favorites/pg ... ames-g.asp ->God gives strength.

On every site I looked at, there was a refrence to God, the bible and Gabriel, AND Gabriella was considerd a bibical name.
The connection between Gabriella and the bible is NOT WEAK.

Actually according to my dad who went to bible college the name Gabriel means "God is my strength", and that hebrew names are not made feninine by adding an a to the end. He said that gabriella in hebrew would be meaningless.

But of course I wouldn't expect the creators, to know that, so maybe they would have considered Gabriella to be sort of a biblical. But with all the real biblical names, that can actuallly be found in the bible like Ruth, Sarah, Rebecca, Tamar, Deborah, Huldah, Judith, Esther, Priscilla, Lydia, Phoebe, Eve, Rachel, Elizabeth, Jezabell, Naomi, Tabitha or Martha; Why would they choose a sort of biblical sounding name rather than a real bible name? And even if they really thought Gabriella was a real bible name, they probably would thnk of Gabby not Bree, as nickname for Gabriella. So everything I said before still applies.

So I don't think it's a very good candidate for bree's full name.

So like I stated before, which you ignored, this was just a theory. But just to prove you wrong...here:

Daniel: judgment of God; God my judge
Cassie: Casiphia, money; covetousness
Jonas: Jonah, or Jonas, a dove; he that oppresses; destroyer
Lucy: Lucifer, bringing light
Gemma: variant of Gemariah, accomplishment or perfection of the Lord
Franklin: not mentioned in the bible
Paul: small; little
Andrea: variant of Andrew--a strong man

Now of course these aren't dead on acurate, but if the theory was right (notice the IF), then the variations would be true because we are NOT in biblical times.

The only reason Gabriella would be a good name for Bree, was because it fits into the storyline. Even though Gabriel is a 'boys name' in the Bible, it doesn't mean that in TODAYS WORLD girls can't be named Gabrielle or Gabriella. Since the pronounciation is GAY BREE ELLE (notice the BREE), it would make sense if her full first name was that (or something else longer) and Bree was just the way to make it smaller...like someone named Anthony, but be call him Tony.

The interesting think about the name 'Bree' is that it could be short for several names.
If Bree's nickname was Gabby, we would know it was short for Gabriella... But with Bree, there's a lot of options

Definately, thats why I'm trying to explain the SUGGESTION of the name "gabrielle" being her real name, is just a theory. Nothing more. We don't know anything for certain.
