Yes, I agree....let's stop being so juvenile, people.trainer101 wrote:Sex? Nah, I don't think so for two simple reasons:
1. Daniel says "It's not what you think"
2. Daniel says "The intense thing was when she hugged me"
More likely, Daniel thinks this is the beginning of "relationship" greater than their existing friendship. I'm not so sure Bree would see it exactly the same way. She needed someone/something to cling to at that moment and Daniel is all she has right know.
(I originally posted this in the video thread but it's more appropriate here)

Usually hooking up just means that they are hooked up, or Together, in a relationship.
And its just like Trainer said. Daniel said the most intense part was when she hugged him, and he said its not like we'd think.
I think it'd be best if everyone didn't assume they had sex.
Remember when Bree was in school and everyone called her Stargirl? When she kept asking her teacher questions, the students would tease that her and the teacher had some sort of relationship. Lets not be like those students and repeat history for Bree.

Well, in this neck of the woods (and most others), "hooking up" means that you at least got to third base, and "walk of shame" means that you're going home wearing the same clothes you wore last night because you just spent the night hooking up. So I think that whether or not anything more than an "intense hug" occurred, Daniel is at least trying to imply that it wasn't all just kissing.
I think that the "It's not what you think" is more of an attempt to say "No, I didn't take advantage of her--she was willing" than an attempt to tell us that nothing really happened. And the "intense hug" is his attempt to let us know that it's not just a physical act for him--it was about emotional connection as well.
Now, I'm not saying that they definitely "did it" (though I do wonder) but I am saying that Daniel definitely meant to make someone think that they did--or else the Creatortrons are clueless about the lingo (which I doubt).

I agree with that. And hooking up does mean the same thing here, its just we do not know for certain if that is what he meant. Given this is supposed to be a PG 13 kind of deal, you'd think they would not have their main characters having sex, especially when Bree is 16 and Daniel is 19.redheaddiva wrote:Well, in this neck of the woods (and most others), "hooking up" means that you at least got to third base, and "walk of shame" means that you're going home wearing the same clothes you wore last night because you just spent the night hooking up. If they did have sex, then yes, I would have to agree with this as well. He was definately showing that they've had these emotions for a long time and it was all mutual.I think that the "It's not what you think" is more of an attempt to say "No, I didn't take advantage of her--she was willing" than an attempt to tell us that nothing really happened. how about: everything that the characters have been developed to be is the best argument against "the deed"?
do the creators want to send the message that a roll in the hay is the way to cure your depression?
(even tho' it may work, that's not the point)
daniel doesn't think bree would go ballistic? her first time announced to the world? yeah...i have a bridge to sell ya..pick it up in brooklyn..

"Lighten up, Francis."
It's not that we see anything wrong with it, we don't think she's some deviant if she does...but the way people are running with the omgz they did it...is immature. Plus, it just doesn't seem realistic to the storyline or make sense. Just because everyone else is so set on it happening doesn't make it ture, kwim.

Everything is just meant to be PG13, thats all.Kelly wrote:Oh, I didn't mean anything wrong with it in the moral sense...I meant anything wrong with it as far as the storyline is concerned. I'm not assuming everyone here has a problem with sex.

lol To funny. So, all that time, I was into gaming and all-nighter network parties, I was also suggesting to my buddies we should have sex or get to third base. (laughs) I swear, I always thought it meant connecting/networking with friends ...in an innocent way or at it's worse a guy and girl dating or something. Jeeze. I had no idea it was so loaded.redheaddiva wrote:Well, in this neck of the woods (and most others), "hooking up" means that you at least got to third base, )
To no one in particular... I don't think they had sex. That's kinda a big leap. Bree evolved from not wanting to feel anything or share her emotions to just the opposite. Then you have Daniel who previously joked and in a way dismissed Jonas as being a sensitive and emotional guy. So if there was a "walk of shame" it's because Daniel finally evolved and got emotional with Bree too. Not angry or tough-guy like, but probably he got that warmy cozy mushy feeling inside and got all misty-eyed with the intensity of it. Hak-ing can do that to a person. As a little pay back, I'd like to see Jonas give Daniel a hardtime about it...
xoxoxo
P
seriously. given the context, i think she was still down about her dad and it brought them closer into an actually relationship. i doubt that amidst all of the crying and coddling she would have even felt like moving to second base... and given the context, i don't think daniel would have pushed her.

I'm really not sure about the inconsistencies we can derive out of this video. The last video was Bree really just wanting to be alone and not being able to figure out how to get Daniel and Jonas to just back off. It doesn't seem quite right for her to have gone and done something like this unless her emotions have broken through very quickly as of late. Secondly is of course the title of this video. Based on the content of the video, if Danial had slept with Bree, he was vague enough about it in the video to make us think he wouldn't have chosen so "derogatory" a title. I think we all know that Bree wouldn't appreciate "hooked up." However, some of these inconsistencies, I don't know if we can blame them on the characters. It could possibly be that the storyline writers and other people in charge of the plot just messed up when it comes to presenting this new advance in the story.

I don't think they had sex either. I think they just realized what they both mean to each other perhaps moved from "friendship" to "realationship." I think Daniel meant they became committed to one another (i.e. going steady, going out, hooking up). I really don't think Bree was in the emotional space to do more than that.
We shall nonetheless move forward to carve a name for ourselves in the annals of bold insurgency and death-defying derring-do. Once I have a keen blade at my hip and the Jolly Roger is flapping high above me, I believe I will find my true calling.

I am convinced that this is a set-up. Daniel wants The Order to be fooled probably so they will leave Bree alone. He may be saying this with or without her knowledge, but I feel absolutely sure they did NOT do it. It is way too out of character for both of them at this point.
You can tell from the beginning of Daniel's video that he is lying. It is a good acting job: acting that you are lying about something, but trying to sound as truthful as possible.
