Someone has Craig Baldwin's
Tribulation 99: Alien Anomalies Under America – the Shocking Truth About the Coming Apocalypse on YouTube. A cool parodic "documentary" examining the history of U.S. military and political intervention in Latin America, the film uses clips of b-movies and documentaries to present the "truth"-- as an elaborate conspiracy. The way Baldwin bounces the conspiracy material off actual (and brutal) fact is fascinating and frightening.
As one film critic noted, "Organised into 99 chapters, each with a terrifying title screaming out in full screen capital letters, the structure of the film invokes both conspiracy theories and biblical texts. And yet a great deal of the narration in Tribulation describes a readily verifiable history of American intervention in Central America from the 1960s through the 1980s. It is mixed in with vampires, voodoo and killer robots, but it is there."
And it's a great satire on right-wing politics, too.
Funny as hell, and scary. If you watch the whole film, it takes on an eerie dream-logic...
When I saw this movie, it gave me nightmares, and not just because the clips triggered childhood memories...
