On a summer day in the month of May a burly bum came hiking
Down a shady lane through the sugar cane, he was looking for his liking.
As he roamed along he sang a song of the land of milk and honey
Where a bum can stay for many a day, and he won't need any money

Oh the buzzin' of the bees in the cigarette trees near the soda water fountain,
At the lemonade springs where the bluebird sings on the Big Rock Candy Mountains

There's a lake of gin we can both jump in, and the handouts grow on bushes
In the new-mown hay we can sleep all day, and the bars all have free lunches
Where the mail train stops and there ain't no cops, and the folks are tender-hearted
Where you never change your socks and you never throw rocks,
And your hair is never parted

Oh the buzzin' of the bees in the cigarette trees near the soda water fountain,
At the lemonade springs where the bluebird sings on the Big Rock Candy Mountains

1 bunny + 1 bunny does not equal 2 bunnies.

anyone else feel this way:

I have such slight desire to come on this forum right now. My energy for it is so...spent.

I'm coming back just because I feel obligated to right now. I don't know why, because I don't hold any important position, I just feel like...i have a duty to the creators ...

le sigh

Yeah, it is irksome that during the day the arguments seem to cease...but come back in the morning and people are stirring up new shit. It's really, really irksome that people can't be adults.

This one time...in band camp, I was so offended...
As a matter of fact, I am still offended...
I don't care what anyone says (or writes),
I am now offended, I'll definitely be offended tomorrow and I will probably always be offended.
In fact, I am most offended by you, jerkass!

Now before one gets upset by my remarks from above, please see it as a helpful tip for posters:

Anyone can feel free to quote me from above in any situation, especially if you're looking to fuel a fire, start a flame war, or just feeling generally unpleasant and cranky.

See my example of what to quote below:
But that *#?@!& gogo rudely wrote:I am most offended by you, jerkass!
It will work in a variety of situations and threads. Such as:
  • One might write: "I don't like any liberals...blah, blah, blah...opinion...blah, blah, blah..."
  • Then, someone else might choose to respond:"I don't care. I don't like conservatives...blah, blah, blah...opposing opinion..."
  • Then, simply quote as I have demonstrated above:
But that *#??& gogo rudely wrote:I am most offended by you, jerkass!
Voila! See, now no matter how heated a situation may become, there will always be a way to deflect any contention between differing opinions, any confusion over semantics or any misreading of one's inflection due to the inability to hear a poster's intented meanings. It's that easy!

It can work in a variety of situations, all designed to turn attention away from the concerns at hand and pin it all on me. It will even allow one to imply that someone is a jerkass without actually involving oneself in a flamewar. (This quote is not to be used, however, when one is truly defending oneelf or making a legitimate point.)

(Sorry to get all political on you with my example of the debate between liberals and conservatives...)

Please realize that this is not directed at anyone in particular (except perhaps Trainer and ApAZ , wintermute and other such mods. because they tend to be mean, unfair and hell-bent on being unreasonable as one can see in many of their hysterical, uneven posts as of late). I am just wanting to get involved in these heated discussions, but I got nothin'. Consider it a gift, or legacy from me, if you will.

With a spirit of giving that will last throughout the ages,
gogo

p.s. In the past days of frustration and controversy, I have not seen many uses of the most effective emoticon: :smt076
Remember, nothing says anger, like a red smilie, shaking its fist.

(Someone should probably sticky this, so everyone has access to this procedure.)

Oh and Kelly, stop posting pictures of me in my playboy outfit. I was in college and I needed to money. Sheesh...

Sorry to be off topic...
Now, back on topic!

(Oh shucks...Actually, I'd rather people not stay on topic anymore :? )

Edited to add: Kasdeja, I can't get that song you wrote about Candy Mountain out of head. (And I suddenly have the urge for a cigarette...)
