I just wanted to formally let everyone know that I think those should hardly be considered emoticons... they are simply punctuation with circles around them. perhaps they are more poinant than normal punctuation, but not much.

That emoticon would be more effective if it was a face with a lightbulb above it. I think someone got lazy and didn't want to create an enlightened expression AND a lightbulb. I hope that person lost their job.

And THAT emoticon... I can't even think of a purpose for it. I guess if you wanted to highlight some important point, as in the following:
"I love LG15, especially because
Eno hangs out there"
but even still... I think the same point could be made with caps, bold print, underline, ect...

Although I suppose the arrow does add a nice touch of color....

Actually for me its noon. I'm studying abroad this semester, which is seriously putting a dent in my online habits... but i think its worth it. hehe
