Yeah it can be confusing, but that doesn't hold true for all asiatic languages. Just mainly Chinese and Vietmanese... Generally you cantake meanings from context if you can understand half of the language.
Japanese is much easier. The hardest part with speaking it is that a lot of words can mean the same thing, but as long as you use the right context, you'll be understood... Writing is a different story. But then again... how often are you going to have to write in Japanese calligraphic script in life?

Hehe, you've got a point there .
It's really pretty... Probably going to get a tattoo a Japanes character done sometime next week.. I have leaned how to write it, and I like doing it, but unless you live in Japan, you don't really have to learn to read or write the calligraphic stuff...
