iamcool wrote:the name isn't SEMIOTICS for me

it's 53454d494f54494353

why?? lol
The file name is in hexidecimal code. If you run it through a hex decoder, it turns into the word SEMIOTICS :)

Ah, thanks! So I agree that we should concentrate more on that one...or see if DannyB can do it on his own...I think I need to check my parent's attic for my old books.

but the full list of books may prove helpful in the future. so its a good idea to have the full list.
Gathering as much information before hand may lead to an easy solve in the future.
I agree, if we could get a confirmed list. But it seems like we are pulling a "Rorschach test" with the screen caps from the videos. I could never trust any "complete" list we put together because there is no way to confirm. Until someone gets some clear screen caps OR Tachyon confirms a list we have, we are just guessing there.
exactly, thats what i've been trying to say. Just from the screen caps there is no way we could have a complete confirmed list. first of all there are so many books, so many different cover art works, so many different editions, so many different cover art for the same editions, so many different type of jackets, ect ect...
It would take a literary expert to really differentiate these books from our screen caps...if they were lucky.

What we need, is the next video with the next clue.

(ps: a thought crossed my mind earlier...feel free to just shoot it down becuase i'm doubtful of it as well.
But I thought about maybe this is just to make us feel included and less bored. What if we are supposed to solve it, but "help lead daniel" on the right path in solving this puzzle. So what if the passowrd is something that we just simply wouldn't get. ...
Its doubtful, but an idea)

One possibility is that we are only supposed to "keep pace" with Daniel, not get ahead of him, which is why we are working on such limited info.

Personally, if that is the case, I will not be happy. I want to DO things in this, not watch someone do them and clap my hands when they get it.

Also guys, as a reminder, trying random passwords is not going to work. They are case sensitive, so even if you do guess the correct word/number combo or whatever it is, if you don't capitalize that one letter in it then it won't work.

Until we know the word, or the mask that will give us the word, we should focus instead on what Tachyon's clue means, and how it could possibly lead us to the password.

Also, just a thought here people, but the file name may have NOTHING to do with the password. It may refer to what is in the file. Keep that in mind as well :)

thats another feeling i'm getting from it and i'm not to happy about that feeling as well.

On a random note, I'm surprised so many people doubt/ed that "The Twin Dilemma" was the 5th book... I thought people would be all over that with "OMG BREE AND JONAS ARE TWINS!!!!1!!"
