Wow...that si the best version so far. Definitely still sounds like Frank is waiting, although there's something going on during "frank"...

Thank you thank you thank you!

Also-this may mean nothing but does anyone else notice that on the video from 5-9s, even though you hear the pages turning, they aren't? The main book, not the superimposed image. The book falls open to a page at 4s and the pages flutter, but they don't actually change.

that's called "reverse delay". there's some delay on the reversed audio, so when you reverse it back the delayed sound is actually before the actual sound, so you get "fra fra frank". think of "shut up" by black eyed pees : "got neighbours across the street screaming : wh wh who the...etc."

besides that the next bit "she can't help you" overlaps frank, so there's some mess

Can you hear "tell it to my....?" at 15 secs in the audio?

Awesome, person!
I totally hear RATM's chorus of "Killing in the Name of."

Yup, Killing in the Name Of
Perhaps it's just a reference to her message: "Come on I won't do what you tell me." Who is telling her to do what? Who has told her to do what?

I heard the same thing as SC. is there any way to slow the audio down? i mean, so we can maybe catch what is at the end?

Yeah, I don't think so either. But it could be a reference to the film, I suppose. Frank is a pretty ominous creature in the film, but he also leads Donnie... he's sorta like a cross between the devil and his subconscious. (my interpretation...it's a tough film to interpret)
What's sort of neat about Darko is that those filmmakers have openly said that they definitely were putting together a very specific story. But if the audience viewed a different "text" through the lens of their own experience and interpreted the story differently (alternate universes? time travel? schizophrenia?), those alternative interpretations are just as valid. Authors don't often state this outright.

i believe you mean the reveresed RATM bit, but now that i look at the lyrics i can't associate it with any line. sounds to me (in the reveresed version) like "leave it to the paintball", but that's probably because i got shot in the head yesterday during a paintball match.
