Those "long-stemmed" jobs you think are so classy and elegant are actually really cheap-o and they don't even smell. And for the love of god, nothing says, "TACKY" like clipping on a couple mylar balloons or a $2 teddy bear!!
Amen.
Although my ex sent me something other than roses they were stargazer lilies. Beautiful things, really. But I kept thinking that there was something rotting in my living room. Not an enjoyable smell.

So funny you just said that! Those smell really good for like 2 minutes, then they do smell like weird rotting-ness. You're right. My mother despises them and we have this family friend that somehow got it in his head that she loves them, so he always sends her those. It's pretty hilarious if you ask me. (They remind me of funeral homes... same weird smell...probably because so many stargazer arrangements come in and out of those places)
I like Peonies myself. Those are my favorite and they smell amazing. I like big, blobby flowers with a bizillion petals.

Those are probably some of the prettiest flowers I've ever seen, but I never want any near me again just because of that smell!
I remember he got really mad when I happened to mention how badly they smelled in front of him. Like, dude, do you want me to lie so that you can get me the death flowers every time?
Peonies are really pretty, but I don't think that I've ever smelled them. I need to find a cool looking flower that smells good!
Well, I don't need to, but you know what I mean..

Every girl should have a signature color and flower.

Yet every woman buys it! Though I argue that they should have their signature scent as well.
I've got scent and color down, now I just need someone to buy me flowers until I figure that out! *looks around hopefully*
That sounds like fun, just going and smelling and looking at flowers all day to pick ones you like. That is, if your job isn't being around flowers all the time.

I think it's a southern / old guard thing. I don't even sell anything...I just bring it to you...with a smile, of course. (Well, not always. Only sometimes...if I like you..or you tip me.)

I don't know one flower from the next. I just pick out whatever looks pretty to me. What's your scent? I like Amarige on a woman... soooo sexy!

Never heard of that scent. But I'm a poor grad student, so I haven't heard of anything that's fancy. Actually I got my favorite perfume from my sister who was going to throw it out because someone had bought it for her and she didn't like it. I'm kind of embarassed to say it's one of those celebrity ones
Still by JLo... feminine but kinda sexy, at least that's how it smells to me. I tend to be very opinionated about scents.

Amarige is by Givenchy. Just go to the mall and spray some on - guys will be following you all over the place. (well, MORE guys will be following you)

Oooooh, the days when I will be able to afford those type of things... I guess that's what the grad school will be good for eventually....
Hmm, I think I would go and give it a sniff, but I'm so scent sensitive that I can't get near the perfume section, all that intermingling fragrance gives me a headache. And you can forget about those silly Yankee Candle places.
I'm also a fan of a perfume my aromatherapist friend used to mix up for me. However since it was all natural you'd have to reapply it after so long, and I'm just too low maintence for that!
