haha. It's okay. If you go into the "Clues and Puzzles" section you can read through all of our futile attempts to crack the code that wasn't there.longlostposter wrote:Oops, sorry. Stuck my foot in my mouth.matsie wrote:No. I was referring to the hours/days we wasted on "deciphering" the Emo Jonas Email...longlostposter wrote:Are you saying I'm emo?matsie wrote:haha. See: Jonas' Emo Email.longlostposter wrote:Maybe it's Wymen, for those who wish to waste precious hours on researching something that will never have shit to do with the story in the end.
Let's see, hundreds of hours researching the following, all for nought:
Aleistar Crowley
Thelema
Epogen
Egyptian religions
The Zodiac of Denderah
The symbol
Nancy Drew books
I'll think of more later.
I didn't even realize there was an deciphering of that thing going on.
Please forgive. I feel like an ass.
Faye: I would also totally kick Conor Oberst's ass just for having that ridiculous hairdo.
Marten: Is that the guy from Bright Eyes? I always confuse him with Winona Ryder.

I think...I think I'm giving up on this soon. If this lead ends up like EVERY OTHER LEAD does, I'm saying goodbye. For a while at least.
watch the sun
as it crawls across a final time
and it feels like
like it was a friend
if its watching us
and the world we set on fire
do you wonder
if it feels the same?

Hmmmm....
THe Wyman website mentions "plant genetics" --- which is interesting, because sometimes ago I remember reading something else related to plant viruses and ribozymes. It really struck me as an odd connection...but it was so "out there" that I guess nobody picked up on it. I don't blame them, it didn't make any sense to me.

Okay see
here and scroll down a bit.
That sketch in the notebook, was identified as a hiarpin ribozyme by somebody (sorry can't remember who) on LG15 Today. Hairpin ribozymes are found in plant viruses.
No, this kind of makes sense, after all... we use plants all the time to help cure diseases, from basic herbal remedies to advanced biotech stuff.
I also find the number of "numbers" here interesting:
Oh, and the National Cancer Institute has well over 8 centers:
http://cancercenters.cancer.gov/cancer_ ... names.html
And, basic research...in San Diego??? Ummm...have none of them heard of the UCSD Cancer Center?
(I know...in game, in game....but seriously....something's up with what they're saying.)

The Wyman Institute is a private, non-profit basic research and educational institution. Under the leadership of our world-renowned staff, some 330 scientists conduct groundbreaking research in cancer, neurobiology, plant genetics and bioinformatics. The Wyman Foundation is one of eight National Cancer Institute-designated basic research centers in the U.S. and the only such center in the San Diego area.
Established more than fifty years ago, Wyman Foundation is today recognized internationally for its educational activities, including an extensive program of scientific meetings and courses that attracts more than 8,000 scientists to the campus each year.

Anyone know how to read barcodes and whether or not we could do it with a screenshot from the video? Just saying, what if the barcode reveals more than just the Wyman Foundation?betz28 wrote:havent read the thread...barcodes??? i dunno
