OK. Here's page 22. Please forgive the quality, as this is a tiny book, and my webcam sucks
Don't say I didn't warn ya
The oval is a mirror, and the dark spot within it is a spider. Sorry it's not very obvious on this capture.

FOUND IT!!!
The Spider Sapphire Mystery Nancy Drew Mystery Series number 45
first sentence:
NANCY Drew drove her convertible into the public parking lot and chose a space facing the far fence.
I can't find a synopsis of it though

Hmmmm, sapphire... a jewel. Or a gem.
Is this a play on words, insinuating something about Gemma?

It looks like something from The Ring.

The sapphire spider, is, I believe, a nancy drew mystery that involves a ring of jewel thieves and the sapphire spider is a rare, precious (fictional) gem that Nancy eventually discovers after having made many new friends and rescued a couple of drowning kittens and found sweet, loving parents for all the poor little orphans.
(I used to be a huge fan of Nancy Drew books. I was kidding about the last sentence, btw.)

I guess that's not a mirror?
At least it's a new lead on the frank front

Any chance Frank is using the bug to make a reference to an "Aphid"?

Beautiful jewel. Shame there's a spider lurking inside.
