And, what happens to the leftover girls who turned out to not be able to do it?
Well, I'm going to just say it. It HAS to have something to do with conceiving children. It just has to!

They feed the leftovers to the dogs.
Gemma was probably a "leftover." I'm just theorizing, of course.

That would certainly make things interesting!

And it's possible. The leftover children (I guess we can assume all of the children in the commune were "special"?) would grow up to be agents of the order.

Well if that was the case wouldn't the percentage be the other way around. I'm not an expert on the matter but I think 99% of girls CAN concieve children after puberty.

The "difference" in the chosen adolescent girls could be something as simple as the fact that only a small percentage of hormonal young girls will not 1) try sex [remember the purity bond?], and/or 2) become testy and rebellious and un-mold-able.
Could somebody please hide money in *my* toys?

Well, maybe they didn't just have to be able to concieve children... I don't know. If they didn't do any gene or bloodwork or anything, it has to have something to do with appearance. So what would change appearance-wise during puberty that would make Bree "special"?

If not, then it has to have something to do with genes.

Hmmm.. you have a point. But what would make them "unspecial" if they have sex? But you def. have a point about the "unmoldableness".

Wow, I guess we didn't know just how lonely "lonelygirl15" is. :[

The information given in this video reminded me of The 4400 for some reason, except much darker. Anyway, I kind of hope Bree goes to find the "others"... or maybe that the "others" will show up suddenly and we'll get even more information.

And honestly, seeing as these girls are in such controlled environments, I don't see how it would be possible for them to have sex. I mean, their parents probably homeschool them (make it harder for them to meet people who don't subscribe to their beliefs), they live in towns in the middle of nowhere (once again, harder to meet people) (and yes, the series may be shot in LA, but that doesn't mean that's where it takes place), which is of course assuming that the coordinates on Lucy's computer were places where "special" kids were, the Order puts up this whole religion front to control them, and God knows what else The Order is doing to control these children.

EDIT: While I'm sure some girls could find a way to slip through these limitations, but I don't think that 99% of them would. I think the percentages would be almost reversed.

I didn't say it ends at being able to conceive. Granted, it's a vague theory, but you have to admit there is a connection between menstruation and special-ness.

- it has to be a girl
- at puberty they find out if the girl is "special" enough.

I'm not doing research into this right no, but I can say off the top of my head that there is a long tradition of young women (sometimes virgins) being a part of religious/cult rituals involving sex and conception.

But Bree was in the same house as two people working for the Order, one in a very high up position, and she managed to sneak out multiple times. Anything could have *happened* to one of the controlled girls if they had managed the same thing, if you catch my drift

EDITED: To make a note that the message wasn't edited yet when I replied ^^;

Maybe they get locked in a dark room with a computer at an illuminati safehouse like "itscassie" :?: /.\

EDIT: for another

Or get sent to University in London like Gemma  :!:

My first reaction, as well. Come on, little girl, there are people in the world who are TRULY alone, who have Not One Soul who even knows them, let alone cares about them, and you have two. It's one thing to have strong feelings of loneliness; it's entirely another to "obey" those feelings as though they are reality.

I kind of feel like, how dare you give yourself the same description ("alone") as someone in Chechnya who is fleeing, all by herself, an entire culture that is hoping to kill her?
That is very narrow-minded. Alone has many different meanings and context. How do you think people who are in a crowd can say they feel alone? I can be in a crowd or with my family or friends and still feel very alone. It does not mean just being physically alone. She may have Daniel and Jonas but neither one of them has gone what she has gone through. No one here can really relate to the way she feels. You may have some simlar experiences, but it is not even close to the experiences she has had. And you are a writer?
