I think Op is saying that Brother killing Gemma was a favor. She had become a liability once her position had been revealed. Sure Gemma didn't think Op was mad at her, but I'm guessing Op had no more use for her. Tachyon may have thought she was hindering Op, but I have a feeling she and brother were just playing into Oppy's hands. Not that Op wasn't glad for Gemma's earlier role, hence the "RIP"

i definately agree with that.
With gemma's position revealed, it leaves a huge liabilty on OpAphids side. It's dangerous for her. If Brother didn't do away with Gemma, Op would have.

That's a phrase that is often used to justify morally "bad" behavior in order to bring about a morally "good" ending.

Robin Hood is a good example this... "Steal from the rich, give to the poor." Killing the bad guy in self-defense is another example.

It's a classic dramatic element, and makes for good stories. Some people refer to this type of behvaior as a necessary evil.


BTW, this is the opposite to the idea of Karma and the Golden Rule.

Maybe...it's a bit confusing, since Gemma paid the price as well.

I think what we need to figure out is what Op's "end" desire is here...and how (or if) it conflicts with the other characters.

Like with the story of Star Wars...the "end" depends upon your point of view.
