If you go watch the Ends Justify the Means video, you can see that the camera quality is similar - very blown out, lots of white, etc. What if, when Daniel found the camera, he recorded a message for the order to see, in which he could have been acting sarcastically or mockingly (which explains the 'hood talk), and that is the material that op used to make the video we're seeing now? Which could mean that Daniel isn't even in custody of the order right now and is still being toyed with by the Cowboy. Eek
Did we ever find out what Daniel did with the hidden camera he found?
Kinda like on Meet the Parents, with Ben Stiller at the end talking to the vase.
I tend to agree with you on this one, and if they got good footage on Daniel that could explain by what they meant by the "Or Have They?" comment. It seems like a good possibility that they were satisfied with whatever Daniel when he found the camera, or at least that they didn't mind that he had found it.
He could be in the custody of the orer, but not being cooperative too.

Also, with the Daniel finding the camera issue, it may not have been the ideal situation for the Order, however it does still serve a purpose.
What would be your response if you were trying to hide from someone and you discovered that your house, which you previously thought was relitivly safe, was bugged. (Also I am assuming this is in Jonas's house, and not during a period where Daniel was home, if I'm wrong, as I have been known to be when it comes to chonology, please tell me). Me... I'd freak out and probably do some seriously ill-considered things. So yea, while they lost their camera, and one can assume that the gang went on a major hunt for more cameras afterwards, they did succeed in scaring Daniel (one would assume), and hopefully making him do some things that he might have thought better of if he wasn't running on an adrenelin(sp?) high.
Is this what Op meant when she said it "...Or have they?" I don't know, but it is a possibile explination.
I know their was a free will thread here somewhere, and people were wondering just how firmly the Order believed in this considering some of their actions towards Bree's dad and Daniel, especially with the possible brainwashing. I'm of the firm belief that the Order doesn't care what happens to Daniel or Bree's dad, Bree is the target, and therefore won't impede her free will to get to her. However they are perfectly willing to ignore the free will of those around her to skew the options Bree has, or see's herself as having. Bree's dad and Daniel are simply objects to be manipulated to help influence Bree's final decission one way or another. No one said free will meant that the decissions didn't have negative outcomes. The Order are just making sure Bree knows that she can continue to run, but her decission will effect those she cares about, or she can come back and no one else will be hurt (whether that's truthful or not if a different question).
In the Order's mind she is already part of them, and therefore earned the right to free will, and it's her choice to run, they are just making it very clear that her decission to leave the order will result in those around her being hurt, they aren't stopping her from running, just making it clear that it's not a great option.
At least this is how they are justifying it in their semi twisted minds.

Daedalus, I'm pretty sure that the camera that Daniel found was in his house, not Jonas's.

Ok, that makes a little more sense and while it won't have the same level of impact that it would have if it were in Jonas's house, it can still cause some degree of fear in Daniel. Besides, if the camera was in Daniel's house it would have provided little to no further benefit unless he returned home permanently as he has basically run away.
Sorry I got my facts wrong, I was trying to match up the timing of the video with when Daniel returned home and thought that Daniel was back at Jonas's house at the point the video was made. Although I guess it does make a degree of sense that there was simply a delay between Op recording the video and posting it to the account, basically they recorded it when Daniel went home then put it up there sometime after Daniel returned to Jonas's house.

That's my theory. I don't think we should read anything into Daniel's failure to mention Jonas.
Beckers wrote:The video was so choppy I think it's possible Op could have been asking him various questions and she just edited together the answers and such into what she wanted him to say.
I think this is a distinct possibility. But whether Daniel was spouting Oppy's script or Oppy edited some Beast videos to say what she wanted, it's clear that the video represents a message to Bree from the Order.

Hi everyone I'm new to this. But I've been looking a little at the forums and videos. Is it possible that this is similar to the Cassie videos in which she's saying the opposite of what she means?
For instance, Check it out.
"I have new friends here." Maybe he means they're not his friends.
"We're having a great time here." He's not having a great time there.
"They treat me great." They're not treating him well.
"They're good people." They're bad people.
When he says about how things were good when she wanted to do the ceremony, but now she doesn't and that's bad. Maybe it's the opposite.
"I think you should do the ceremony" I don't think you should do the cerermony.
"Bring the puppets along" Someone mentioned a theory about them being bugged...don't bring them along perhaps? (Ok that's a long shot I know)
"Listen to your friend Daniel. Do the ceremony." Don't listen to me, DON'T DO THE CEREMONY!
Or am I way off here? Just a thought.

You might be onto something. Others have mentioned that Daniel was very "Cassie-like" in the way he rolls his eyes back in the video.

... which goes along with what I have been saying
forever now about "NO GOOD" which is that the text message was a warning.
"It's all good" (which he says
more than once in
Miss Me?) and "no good" negate each other.
As for the shirt, I'd think Op could easily go pick up some of Daniel's stuff at his house if they/she/blah wanted. Perhaps the shirt was their choice. I don't know why, but then I don't know why the shirt would be that shirt in particular anyway. No matter who chose it.

Grasping for straws here...
but what if Daniel had an emergency bag all packed and in the car,in case he and Bree had to run again?
(People on the run usually keep a bag packed and ready in case they gotta move quick,in all the Fiction I read...)
and So,that blue t-shirt was packed in the bag (In the car)when he went out to Pins and Pints ?
Perhaps before the Order grabbed him they ransacked the car ,looking for some info or such and grabbbed the bag before they grabbed him ?thinkking it might contain something important ???
This seems as feasible to me as any other theory ....

I really don't think the shirt is supposed to matter. It's been clear before now that they don't plan what the characters are going to be wearing. Here's something I said in another thread to explain:
I wrote:I'm pretty sure their clothing isn't kept in-continuity. Whatever they're wearing at any given time is just the actor's clothes. For instance, Bree was wearing two different shirts in "Looking For Daniel" and "Sleepover," even though both videos were supposed to have been filmed in the same day (Jonas' actor actually did keep the same shirt on for those two, but he was wearing something different in "Cowboy," which was supposed to have been the next day; Bree and Jonas also weren't shown or implied to have taken any luggage with them).
These non-consistent outfits go back to the homeless videos, in which Bree and Daniel were never seen wearing the same thing twice (until "Warwalking" and "Tough Cookie") despite being homeless with only two fairly small duffel bags for way over a month.

Just wanted to say I really really like many of the theories out there.... so much, that I can't make up my mind.
Trainer's got a good point, referring the "The End Justify The Means" video.
Op is anything but stupid. she/they would know the cameras buzz when a cell phone is around - and would use it. "...Or have they?"
when that video was released, many people on the forums said that we got it all wrong - and something big is gonna happen. they were leaning on the fact that the voice message was not backwards, while the 'OpAphid' that ends each video was.
So if Daniel was brainwashed, I believe it definitely happened before he got back to Jonas'.
and he's been acting kinda funny since - trying to hook up with her and all that. could it mean anything?
But the truth is, my feminine intuition (that is usually wrong) tells me Daniel isn't on their side. not brainwashed or anything.
First of, because he would've had much better influence on Bree if he just stayed at Jonas' and talked to her endlessly. what's the point convincing her with this creepy video?
and second,
C'mon, it's Daniel. he would strangle himself to death before betraying Bree, and like in most American Movies, his deep and true love would win over this brainwashing or something.
The video has the strangest editing, it doesn't sound like him nor like his figure of speech, so imo they don't have him. not physically - and they had to fake it. it's all some fake-computer-photoshop-editing-mumbo-jumbo.
and last - each time I watch this video, the "WE HAVE DANIEL" part makes me freak out.

What? That makes no sense.
She kissed him. She knows he's interested in her, he left his whole life behind to help her, she kissed him alone in a bedroom at night . . . He's Emo Boy. Of
course he's going to think she wants to be with him.

That's another reason why it makes no sense to think Daniel was brainwashed before he got back to Jonas's place. It had to have happened when he went back to Pins 'n' Pints to look for Randomgirl McPhee.
raindown wrote:C'mon, it's Daniel. he would strangle himself to death before betraying Bree, and like in most American Movies, his deep and true love would win over this brainwashing or something.
That's just silly. The idea makes no sense in the context of LG15. These people are
powerful. And they appear to have plenty of scientific knowledge on their side. Just look at the stuff Bree was learning about before she was forced to go on the run. And Bree's "dad" was a doctor with lots of medication at his disposal. I'd bet lots of money that the Order has unimaginably strong drugs that could be used for brainwashing purposes.
Daniel's a
teenager. No matter how strong his "deep and true love" is or was, it's illogical to think he could beat that kind of chemically-induced mind control.

If we've learned nothing else, every video has a purpose, even if it seems innocent.
Two thoughts:
1.) the shirt change IS meaningful, or else they wouldnt have made a video showcasing what Daniel would be wearing out to the bowling alley (on what would soon become the night of his kidnapping).
2.) the only people who would have access to the shirt AND to Daniel (assuming daniel did not bring a change of clothes with him) would be Jonas (if he's in the order's backpocket--which goes back to the creepy song he sang as a "joke") or the girl that brought Daniel back to Jonas' house from the SAME bowling alley. She's in the order.
Any takers?

And one more thing to add to my theory.
I just noticed this while re-watching the "Truth or Dare" vid. When the girl comes out of the bar with Daniel, and Jonas calls them over, the camera seems to make sure to show the girl's face/expression--which is one that i took to me "oh my god, it's you." I think the bowling alley chick AND jonas are order-ites.
