i have not. its possible smosh's gains are legitimate, but it still seems strange to me. it quite likely i'm way out of touch with what 12 year old boys like on youtube. i'm kinda hoping someone unearths evidence on cheating, as there are a few youtubers that try to expose cheaters regularly. we'll see.

on miaarose (currently #3 all time most subscribed), that was a big controversy too. later it was found out that she was featured on the signup page (new accounts get options of a few channels to subscribe to when they signup) for something like a week because youtube had made some mistake with her account (she is miaarose, and they had tried to feature miarose or something like that). that would provide a lot of new subscribers with "0" videos viewed. however, her growth in subscribers was truly blindingly fast - she only joined youtube on dec. 29, 06.
If anybody is interested, I can prove that smosh cheats the views. There are so many subscribers that it is just pathetic. I'm not angry at lonelygirl15 and I'm not angry at smosh so it'll be a lot easier to be logical and more specific in my video that points it all out. I know nothing about subscriber cheating I could never figure that one out, but I do know the more views you get, the more comments and subscribers you get. Smosh definitely cheats and I know how he does it and this would explain how I've cheated using my own website.

Is anybody interested?! I won't waste the time if nobody is interested, but I think that it's not youtubers, it is smosh and and he should draw the line on how much he cheats.

I'm interested. :)
That was the weirdest display of geekdom that I have ever seen in my entire life.

I'm super-interested, JG. real proof of view cheating by smosh would be a big revelation.

They are people without videos, but if you click on their channels and look most of them actually have a channel with quite a few video views (100+) and subscriptions to channels other than smoshs.

I'm not trying to stick up for these guys, but I'm just pointing out that even though people don't put up videos, that doesn't mean that they are dummy accounts.

I realize that dummy accounts can be made to look like real ones, but do these people really have the time to make thousands of dummy accounts and personalize all of them???

I don't know why I'm so shocked that there is a program that can cheat video views like that.

There are a lot of people who accuse those members who are at the top of YouTubes most subscribed of cheating. I hear about people claiming that LG15 uses cheats like this to get their views so high.

And I was wondering how you got 24,000+ videos watched! :P

I just get skeptical because I hear a lot of accusations flying around about different YouTubers cheating. You provide some interesting evidence though. Nice work.

I personally wish that Smosh wasn't #1, mostly because I think their videos are idiotic, and not very funny. I think there are a lot of other YouTubers whose videos are much MUCH better than those...

I never knew how people could cheat on youtube... if it's that easy, I guess lot of channels do it.
How do you know this stuff, gilmour?

and btw. I think smosh is a duo

thanks for all this information, jamie. on the mariechorea account, it looks like the video counter didn't include all the "clicks" from the links on there. did youtube correct it?
