Alex is divorced. Highly unlikely she has an intact purity bond.
why the fuck does everyone think the purity bond has to do with virginity?

it makes perfect sense that the new girl is alex herself. She's doing it to save BD&J

I don't think Alex is pure at all. I don't think she gives a rats-ass about DBJ.

Well, maybe the dictionary.

pu·ri·ty /ˈpyʊərɪti/ [pyoor-i-tee] –noun
1. the condition or quality of being pure; freedom from anything that debases, contaminates, pollutes, etc.: the purity of drinking water.
2. freedom from any admixture or modifying addition.
3. ceremonial or ritual cleanness.
4. freedom from guilt or evil; innocence.
5. physical chastity; virginity.
6. freedom from foreign or inappropriate elements; careful correctness: purity of expression.
7. Optics. the chroma, saturation, or degree of freedom from white of a given color.
8. cleanness or spotlessness, as of garments.

Number 5 but im guessing people think its a mixture of 1 through 6.

Not everyone agrees with that definition. It's actually even insulting to a lot of people.

Personally, I don't think it makes any sense to say someone is pure or impure based on virginity. It's not like sex taints the soul or turns one into a killer.

The only reason the idea probably even exists is because STDs have always existed and it didn't take a genius to figure out the connection between virgins and fewer STDs. And when you had so many people superstitious to begin with in the past and everything had to be either "tainted" or "pure" ... well, you get the idea.

In any case, no, that's not why anyone here thinks virginity might be related to the purity bond. OpAphid was concerned about Daniel getting physical with Bree - and Bree's parents went so far as to call something as irrelevant as Bree sneaking out to go to a party a possible violation of the purity bond. Those are the reasons why. Well, probably those and the persistence of the retarded notion that being a virgin means someone is pure.

Well, when Bree snuck out her parents told her she HAD broken her purity bond, and she DIDN'T have sex. So obviously she did something else to break her purity bond. Maybe Alex never did that something else. Perhaps defying authority

So I am whats wrong with the world. A silly dude with a cat with rotating eyeballs for a avatar? I am not preaching any moral point here so calm down.

Personal feelings aside this type of purity (chastity) is a very religious idea and we are dealing with a religion like or not and it would definately be in the realm of reason.

They have found another girl who is pure. Whether that meens they kept her from the liquor or kept the tom's away from her. She is the one for the order now.

Thats true maybe even being with a boy unescorted breaks the bond.

Not saying it had to do with sex but I can see where people get the idea.

Yeah, you're right. Her parents said she had broken it. Maybe they were exaggerating, though. Why else would they have continued to want Bree if she were no longer pure?

In any case, that's an interesting thought. The defiance of authority. But why then would OpAphid have been concerned about Daniel making a move on her?

I thought her parents said she "may have" broken her purity bond, or that they were worried she had.

I think it's funny how people are so sour on Maddison. I'm not saying she is or is not part of this but the hatred is funny. When Jonas was first introduced everyone hated him and now he's beloved for the most part. Ditto Alex. Ditto any new character. If Maddison is real I'm sure that within a few months a good chunk of the people that hate her now will like her. Adjusting to something new is never easy.

On another note I don't think Alex is lying. I think they do have another girl (maybe Maddison, maybe not.) It's just so weird that the creators would dangle such an interesting new angle in front of our faces only to turn around and say, "nope, we fooled you." That's really anticlimatic. Besides, it makes sense. The Order is such a huge, outstretching organization and they have ZERO contingency plans? Only one possible girl will do? I doubt it.

Besides, I've always had the theory that if Bree has sex or if her next birthday passes she won't be right for the ceremony. So how would the series continue after that? Another girl would be perfect so that TAAG can protect her.

I just hope that they don't phase Bree out of the show completely because Jessica wants to move on so only the boys (and possibly Alex) are trying to rescue the new girl.

No Bree = No show

LG15 would totally jump the shark if that happened.
