Honestly I think you all are going in the wrong direction with the tinyurl stars picture.. I mean, it looks like a really bad personal website background.

Not that I don't think stars could be relevant - I just don't think that image or any other tinyurls have to do with it.

I think everything we know to crack the password is on this note or in the package, but I don't think it requires a reading marathon.

I know this has all been gone over before, but something must have been missed, and I think it has to do with stars.

I think the xy thing is purely to attract attention the wrong direction.

Where it all started

It's possible that the x's, y's and reference to Drew, are only red herrings to attract attention away from the tinyurl that janesalteredstates found.

I think the book The twins dilemma may be important in this. It attracted our attention by how difficult it was to identify, and by how unusual it is that it is out of the series.

She does not, unless you're talking about the word started. If that's the case then she also references the words here, tart, art, fore, and a couple others I wont bother with.

WORD.

Also, if we take OpAphid's quote as a clue -- that means that Op already has the answer... which wouldn't make any sense.

I interpret her quote as saying that we are reading too far into things.

Theres a Nancy Drew book called "The Secret in the Stars".

But then again the star thing could be reading too much into it.

There is a tiny URL that links to a gif. Has anyone tried to do anything with it other than say it's not what we are looking for, next?

Everyone has saved it for you.
Please share what you figure out from it.

I'm probably not going to be able to contribute much here, but I just thought I'd throw out that I'm also trying to figure this thing out.

I don't know what to even look for, really. I'm just guessing we'll have to answer this thing in hexadecimal (assuming the 11 x's really mean 11 numbers and the 3 y's really mean 3 letters). Of course, if that's wrong then I'm going to be of no use.
