If thats how the Opaphid followers act, then Im glad I didnt follow the damn thing. Im noticing A LOT of hostility and anger coming out of the OP veterans.. and they are all mad that they have to accept some noobs to the game now that it Canon. I feel like Im in school where the Opaphid crew is the "Cool kids" and dont want us to come sit at their table.

For the record, I welcome anyone who wants to play OpAphid. I am not anti-noob at all. I was a newbie at once to LG15 and OpAphid.

Don't accuse me of taking stance I am not taking.

My comment was because someone posted an "I totally understand" to someone's comment that essentially boiled down to "how dare you advance the plot or # of characters in the show I watch without taking my expectations into account! You can't create a spin-off without my say so!"

And my comment was appropriate, since I was replying to someone saying "they totally understand" as if we were talking about losing a loved one, or were a support group for incest survivors.

It's a show, people. It's entertainment. If you don't like it, don't watch it. Just for God's sake stop taking it so personally that we can't even discuss the show because you have a problem with a decision made by The Creators--you know, the people who create and produce this whole show we fell in love with in the first place?

Cut them some slack. We aren't even paying customers, we're just fans. If they think something is a good addition, give it a chance.

We can start a seperate forum subsection for anyone who feels P-Monkey or Owen violated them, and then we can all cry, have a hug, and post scans of everyone pointing to the spot on the doll where P-Monkey touched you!

You are all totally free to ignore OpAphid when discussing Lonelygirl, but if you do want to check OpAphid out, I for one am willing and available to answer any and all questions. So are many, many others.

The more the merrier, in my opinion.

im hated for playin op now cuddles that made me sad. You can't sit there and say that. I wasnt upset about the "noobs"

I have posted in thread after thread that i am more than willing to help ANYONE with ANY questions. I am even making a FAQ/Intro/Crash course into op....to help those that wanted to play and join in....

I was upset because i felt like part of the mystery was gone....

but im sorry if my invitation to "the cool table" isn't good enough...

Works both ways too. There's a tendency to focus on the negative of both noobs and those who have been playing. (And for those who play CiW, who are I guess technically not in either catagory.)
Honestly, as someone who lurked on OPAphid, whenever I needed something cleared up people fell all over themselves trying to be helpful, because people who have gotten into it are enthusiastic, and willing to share whatever insights they can if you are interested. If someone is a little testy right now it's because of the influx of new people on something they've been passionate about for a while. Just give the prickly ones a few days to breathe, everyone will calm down eventually.
