covedweller wrote:For the record, I welcome anyone who wants to play OpAphid. I am not anti-noob at all. I was a newbie at once to LG15 and OpAphid.

Don't accuse me of taking stance I am not taking.

My comment was because someone posted an "I totally understand" to someone's comment that essentially boiled down to "how dare you advance the plot or # of characters in the show I watch without taking my expectations into account! You can't create a spin-off without my say so!"

And my comment was appropriate, since I was replying to someone saying "they totally understand" as if we were talking about losing a loved one, or were a support group for incest survivors.

It's a show, people. It's entertainment. If you don't like it, don't watch it. Just for God's sake stop taking it so personally that we can't even discuss the show because you have a problem with a decision made by The Creators--you know, the people who create and produce this whole show we fell in love with in the first place?

Cut them some slack. We aren't even paying customers, we're just fans. If they think something is a good addition, give it a chance.

We can start a seperate forum subsection for anyone who feels P-Monkey or Owen violated them, and then we can all cry, have a hug, and post scans of everyone pointing to the spot on the doll where P-Monkey touched you!

You are all totally free to ignore OpAphid when discussing Lonelygirl, but if you do want to check OpAphid out, I for one am willing and available to answer any and all questions. So are many, many others.

The more the merrier, in my opinion.
I don't know what your problem is, since I was not addressing you but I'd appreciate it if, when you try to paraphrase what I say, you at least get it right. My issue is not that "my say so" wan't taken into account nor was it that my "expextations" were not fulfilled (except my expectation to be extended the courtesy of being told what is and is not cannon when they knew). That is my opinion and I feel that it's valid. I'm not off the forum because of extra chacters or a plot that I don't like. We, as fans and as members of the fuorum, have put a lot of time and effort into this project. And, while it is "free", we are actually helping the creators. We are not "just fans". And even if we were, should we be grateful for just anything they put out simply becuase it's free? We're still people with opinions and if they (the creators) are serious artists/writers (whatever), they need to hear positive and negative feedback. We are part of the project. Well, I will not be part of it anymore and I think they should know why. If you don't like that, who cares? Quite frankly, f**k you.

Edited for crystal fucking clarity...though I'm sure you'll still miss the point and put words in my mouth.

My mom has a brother that disappeared 20 something years ago, and this year my other uncle hired a private investigator to find him. They didnt find him but they did find his three kids.
So, they are coming on thanksgiving to meet us for the first time.

Thank you very much. I just hope it won't be too awkward. I know it is bound to be a little strange but I hope everyone just hits it off and the weirdness of it all disburses as quickly as possible.

Coming from someone who's had plenty of awkward hollidays, don't worry! It might be odd, but you're right, the weirdness will disburse. Food has a way of bringing people together. :)

Wow, Fondue, that's a very happy yet tragic story. I hope your family has a wonderful thanksgiving. :)

Food... or obscene amounts of alcohol. I wouldnt turn down either.
