Jake - [Jake again sighs, growing tired of being led in circles... He keeps the beat going on his desktop.]

"Does it really matter? He was respected for his scientific work, not his personal opinions."

OOC: I'd probably get them mixed up if I wasn't one of them. >_<

OOC~ I'm very sorry for calling you Jason, Jake! :)

Ms. D~ Well, Dr. Feynman was highly respected for his brilliant contributions to the world of science. At the same time, he referred to science as being a cult.

Ms. D~ Many people also have referred to our religion, the Hymn of One, as being a cult. It's all a matter of perspective.

Feynman called science a "cargo cult." In remote African jungles, people used to build idols that looked like airplanes, believing that they would bring them food, because a plane once landed and brought them food as cargo.

Feynman made the parallel that people keep expecting science to keep promises it isn't capable of providing. It's like a tease. People worship science as if it can solve the world's problems.

Jake - [Jake laughs to himself as Ms. D. mentions people calling the Hymn of One a cult... "Good job, "Dad", you just volunteered me for a cult. A+ on the parenting there."]

Jason:To Autumn Alright, but I hate seeing you hurt. To Ms. D But one cannot overlook that science has solved a lot of problems, and will continue to do so.
