Actually, I had something like that happen to me a few weeks ago. I felt awake but couldn't move but I saw someone in my bathroom and at the side of my bed and they were making my arm raise up and down and I control it.....very freaky shit. It felt very lucid...I was calm on one level of consciousness and scared beyond believe on another......sound like the same thing?
Could be - different people seem to have different experiences. Sleep Paralysis is one of the suspected causes of "alien abduction" experiences because some people have experiences like yours. In mine, I just felt DEAD.

Me 2, It's happened like more than 5 times now. I've been trying to sleep better cause one night it happened twice and I freaked out.
The first time I had it was after a sleepless night in the hospital and a heavy dose of morphine from the doctor. I came home, fell asleep and you know the rest....
Then I started getting them after that. When did it start for you? I feel scared too though every time. Even though I try to tell myself while its happening that it will be ok. Does anything trigger it?

Sounds alot like it... I didn't know there was a term for it until I researched. There is a nightmare or hallucinations with it sometimes... everyone is different like trainer said... but one thing is for sure.. its freaking scary!!!

I was sick when mine happened.....and stressed anyway.
I hate the dreams where I go back into the same dream multiple times.....I force myself to stay awake for a long time before I go back to sleep.
I never have good dreams....that is just foreign to me.
Are you guys scared every night before you go to sleep? Maybe you could try an over the counter sleep aid? It might affect the deepness of your sleep.

The first time it happened, I was sick as well and stressed out. Believe it or not, usually happens to me the week of midterms and finals.
I know... I rarely have good dreams as well.
I am not scared of sleeping... usually if I go to sleep early, I will be ok. I have deep sleep (never wake up from hearing sounds or anything), but I still get them regardless.

According to my doctor I suffer from a mild form of narcolepsy. No I don't nod off for no reason but my doctor thinks that the potential is there. He advised me against driving if I feel even mildly tired. Usually when I get overtired my legs (and sometimes my arms) will start to "do their own thing", so to speak. It's all related.
I only sleep a couple of hours a night. Over active mind they tell me - I can't shut it off.

I can't go to sleep on my own....gotta have a double dose of nighttime sleep aids. I just can't turn my brain off.....and I wake a couple of time at night. The late night falling asleep is the worst.....I absolutely hate being the last person awake. I feel like I'm the last person awake in the world and it's a horrible feeling. When the infomercials come on I know it's going to be a long night. So the internet has helped......like now!

I'm not afraid of sleeping. I just don't really sleep much. I think (in my case anyway) that a sleep aid may be more inclined to trigger an episode.

It's good you've gotten checked and everything... just curious, how old where you when it started?
Over active mind? blame LG15...
The internet keeps me up late! But I've been trying to sleep more... which usually means 6 hours. LOL
I've accepted the sleep paralysis thing... it's kinda...umm... cool.... (just trying to make myself feel better)

That must really suck!
We are here to keep you company. Usually, I have no trouble sleeping.. I just don't have time to sleep sometimes. I have so much homework and then I keep getting distracted on the internet.. by the time I look at the clock, it is 2.00 AM... Like you, I am always the last person awake... always...

What happens in a sleep paralysis episode is your brain disconnects from your body - which is normal, by the way - it's natures way of keeping you from physically acting out your dreams. What happens is, for some reason, your conscious mind "snaps awake" before the reconnection happens - leaving you temporarily paralyzed.

You forgot the "freaked out and scared part".. LOL
I researched on it alot as well. Very interesting stuff. I shared it with all my family who has never experienced it. All they told me was to get some sleep!

That sounds like my dream a few weeks ago but luckily it's isolate. It's only happened twice in the past year......but it's one of the weirdest sensations. I tried to explain it to my husband (who can fall asleep in 2 seconds flat) and he just looked confused.
Have you ever attempted to take control of it?
