No, because they cater to the lowest common denominator... which, unfortunately, are people who want their cinematic adventures simplistic.

Id agree with AP as right now i cant think of a recent good movie to defend hollywood. Especialy Games to movies the transistions always horible and doesnt keep to the stoy

Edit how an eitire page can apear between preview and poting baffles me. The only good horror movie lately was Saw3

Nah... He's just a movie snob ;)

OK. I'll admit it. I would be too, if I could just pull myself away from the craptastic stuff that Hollywood keeps putting out :?

I recently got NetFlix, I've been watching a lot of 70s films lately, like Marathon Man, All the President's Men, Three Days of the Condor, Network, etc. It's been nice watching films that actually meant something.

I don't mind subtitles if it's a good movie.

I remember watching Gerard Depardieu in Cyrano de Bergerac (if all you know about him are his lame-ass Hollywood films like Green Card or the one he did with Whoopi, you'd be in for a treat) in French on a Spanish HBO channel, so I had to read Spanish subtitles. That was a workout, but I still enjoyed it very much.
