Hehe.... Wonder if my old BBS number is still available... I'll go beg AT&T for it back, then I'll set the BBS up again  Scary part is, I still have my BBS hardware, including a complete backup from the day I took the board down. Which was the day that my wife and I moved in together after getting engaged.

First, why is it a ho if it's a female, but people don't even feel the need to comment on a person's sexual promiscuity if they're male? It's seen as "just being a guy" but for a female it takes a negative connotation.

Second, since when does sexual freedom indicate sexual irresponsibility? Sexual freedom and STDs don't necessarily go hand in hand. Just because you know your way around in bed doesn't mean you don't know how to use protection.
Both very excellent points.

I used to run The Round Table right outside of Birmingham, Alabama. It was a WWIV board for a while and a Telegard board for a while. Mostly, it was WWIV. It was billed as "Birmingham's Only Occult BBS" and I actually had christian churches in the area calling for boycotts. LOL

I made some great friends in those days. I had an abusive family life with very low self esteem. It was hard for me to walk up to someone and meet them. But, I'd meet them first online and it made meeting them in person much easier. Some of my first girlfriends actually came from that time period...where I met them online and then met them in person.

and I would prolly only get lucky with the one that was careless since I had a lack of self esteem and wanted to screw anything with a hole at the time.... damn drug-phase... but I survived :)

Ah yes, another WWIVer. I became quite intimate with the source code of my BBS software of choice! It's how I learned to program in C, which is a skill still use today :)

I briefly dated a woman who ran a PIN (pagan information net) board in Columbus, Ohio. She had no problems with boycotts. Hell, she's probably the only person I know who was able to successfully sell advertising space on a single-line WWIV board. She's also the reason I relate to Wicca more than any other specific religion. She's the first person to ever expose me to a pagan religion.

I'm a digital packrat. I never throw out computer hardware (half the time even if it no longer functions) and would rather start fresh with a new hard drive that delete a file that I might need some day  I've got a milk-crate of old hard drives with %diety% knows what on 'em :)

You're smart! At about 15-16 I decided that I was "too cool" for all my old computer nerd stuff and threw it out. Years later I realized I was wrong. Too late! So now I'm re-collecting it all, which is a strain on the ol' wallet.
