Huh. I'm not quite on the "Mr.Bree is Dead" bandwagon yet.He didn't seem dead in those screen caps. And they didn't exactly stick around to find out.
The video editing reminded me a lot of Tachyon.
I wonder if they're going to use this (Bree's dad getting shot, maybe dead) as a way to bring Bree and Tach together to fight the Order.

Are we all for sure who's side Brother is on?
In his last video he was aiming at Gemma.
Why would the order suddenly shoot someone with a gun? Was it brother's gun?

This plot has my speculation-meter pointing in few different dirrections.
- First, if Bree's father is actually dead, this will certainly add to the extreme psychological pressure that Bree seems to be under. I thought this video did a good job of demonstrating the gravity of the situation from the point of view of young adults/teens with the only outlet being video editing.
- Perhaps the awkwardness of the title of the video (the blatant use of the word "dead" as opposed to "Bree's dad has passed away," "has been murdered," or "has been shot"), the lack of any clear explanation, and the "RIP Bree's Dad" (which seems kind of silly and simplistic on the surface) as opposed to simply "RIP" or "Rest in peace, FIRST NAME" (because Daniel couldn't include a last name for Bree's privacy) or “with respect” could be an accurate reflection of a young adult's awkward reaction to such devastating news.
- Or could this video (“Bree’s Dad is Dead”) be a ploy or trick to give the impression that our trio (B, D & J) want people to believe that they think Bree's dad is dead, when they know differently. The death of a parent is pretty serious issue to fake, however.
- Or it could be a metaphorical death? (Like shunning someone from the village and saying "you are dead to me!"- which seems a little overboard for this day and age). On this token, the "Unspeakable" could have been the betrayal of a father. Perhaps he has been so brainwashed by the "order" that Bree no longer sees him as the person he used to be (for example, "since joining the cult, Johnny is just not acting the same. I don't know who he is anymore. But the old Johnny we once knew is dead...") Again, far-fetched, but it's just my own speculation.
I think I am concerned about a lonely girl of 16 years (with no mother in sight) losing the "big man" in her life and now needing to turn to "the two little men" in her life, and the damsel in distress-mode has come up lately. Bree used to be a strong-willed, independent, bright young woman with interests and goals of her own. Now her only goal seems to be reacting to those around her and getting saved at every turn by the men in her life.
I could also unprepared as a viewer to such a serious incident and the real action-movie threats of violence that were only implied in the past. Maybe, as curiousGeorge implied a page or two ago that "I guess that many pholks won't like this vid because it did not reveal much or answer any questions. Well one question was answered. Real death and grief don't answer questions either. "
I could just want answers and a happy resolution or something.
(The writers can always feel free to call, pm, or email me all the answers I need. My daughter's sick and I'll be home all day.)
Short of the writers calling, pming or emailing me to discuss the plot one-on-one, I guess I'll have to keep waiting for another video to shed some light on this situation.
I hope this made sense.

Thank you for a completely pointless video. And one that is emo to boot
That's not called "EMO" that's called art. While there is literally nothing to figure out in this video, it answers some of our burning questions and panicks from the last few days. So, don't be angry...
We'll get more answers soon.
Personally, I think it was beautiful.
Great choice on the Rachmaninov. Mmmmmm....

I really like your idea about the betrayal and him being "dead" to her...I think it is a great idea, and I was wondering if I could put it in my next video? Chances are you won't see this though so I will PM you as well! But great thinking!

I am so glad that after the first few pages people stopped whineing and started seeing what a beautiful and artisitc video this is.
The only thing that botherd me was that his Dad didn't have a name, even a first name would have made more sense but people gave some theorys on that.
This show is tied together by its characters. There are 3 differnt editors ( bree Daneil and Jonas) with 3 differnt perspectives and styles. They aren't all going to be the same. So why do people keep complaining about that!
I am glad some people get this.
For all we know the dad could have set this up in order to show how serious they were. He might not be dead but, we are being told he is right now.

Emo = Emotion
They showed exactly what they needed to...the gravity of the situation..and the emotions Bree is feeling.

But doesn't the thing on the left say Colorado Springs.....
How long would it take to go from LA to Colorado....
Edit:
Put the two locations into yahoo maps and it would take around 15 hours...
So how long was the gap in videos?

We all have to remember one thing though.
This series is trying to stay as realistic as possible and along with staying real we can't expect too much from Bree two days after her dad dies. Whether he is dead or not in reality she believes that he is so we have to give her some time and perhaps we will see in the next vid bree saying how upset she is and telling us the last things her dad told her.
