Mirage wrote:Thanks! My auntie made it--she's got a popular cakeshop in the area (her webbie will be up soon, she's gotten kinda famous locally). It's half chocolate cake w/peanut butter filling (the real stuff too!), half lemon cake with lemon curd. The seashells are white chocolate, and the sand is graham cracker. She's quite the ace. 8)
That sounds like the greatest cake EVER! Aw, I want some now!

She'll most likely make me a cake for my birthday next month, so I'll smash it up on my monitor while I'm PMing you....that SHOULD do the trick. ;)

My auntie is amazing--she really is the stereotypical American dream--no cake school whatsoever, just a passion. And she started a career out of it (by herself, rennovating her basement into a fully functional kitchen), and now she's having articles written about her in Connecticut magazine! I really admire her. :)
Now I'm all inspired. I'm probably gonna go try to bake a cake, and fail miserably.

There'll be bits of eggshell poking out with some paper sticking out of the bottom, hell there'll probably be a kitchen knife in there.

LMAO!! I'm good with the whole "baking in foreign objects" deal, I just cant for the life of me get the cake to not cave in in the middle. It's a curse, I tell you.

Oy, let's just go out for some cake that someone else made. ;)

Ya, Mirage, let's just go to Von's and buy a store-made cake. It's either that, or we poison ourselves by eating our own cooking, lol.

Hahahaha! So much for "on-topic."

Well, I'd like a (late) birthday present, too. The first word starts with "N" and the second one starts with "M."

It's a neap monkey. Yes, a monkey that comes in with the neap tide. I'm tired with my f*ckin' vernal tide monkey.

Yes, a cheesy astronomy joke. Gosh, I am just a huge nerd.

Oh, and I want a nakey Mirage, too.

Everyone loves smexy noodles. But it's hard to find on the market in the U.S.

Yes, the fact that you got that, and I got the "Lemon Demon/Ebaum's an a**hole" thing is true evidence that we were meant to find each other.

*in cheesy infomercial testomonial voice* Thank you, LG15! *thumbs up*

I wasn't super involved with the ARG, mostly just kept track of things and repeated what other people had already figured out. After the webmaze fiasco, I was pretty burnt out. Not to mention I don't know how people can devote that much time to ARGs in general. Me, I go stir crazy after an hour. :D
Was it the glyphs?

We lost a lot of good people to those damn glyphs. :x

*plugs fingers i nthe ears*

alright so when should i start looking at the arg story wise???
I heard it doesn't impact the story THAT much, but it helps to look into it.

Right now, I'm at season two, We've jsut met the other survivors. Shannon died, siaed is all depressed, clair is getting pissed at charlie, rose found bernard (which I FREAKIN' BAWLED), Sawyer tried to kill Kate which unconcious...(that was creepy), found out why Kate is on the run (which I sympathize for), and locke is still pushing that button, and Mr. Ekko (who BTW...i'm developing a HUGE crush for...big black men mean only one thing...HUGE......feet) jsut told the story about the bible (which I loved!!!!) and they found the other video/pieces from the orginal video.

So i can't wait!!

Something else I noticed: Black and White.
The Horse that drove the Marshals car off the rode was white, yet the horses Kate sees are black. Backgammon is being play CONSTANTLY, The dharma initative's symbol is black and white, when jack met anna-lucia in the jungle jack wa wearing white, anna was wearing black...
kelly

YOU: Who does that KTS think she is? Total bitch!

ME: I think I'm you, only better.

The ARG is over now and despite rumours to the contrary it seems like it won't be returning this summer. :(

They say the ARG didn't require having watched season 2 but it's probably best to watch season 2 before you recap the ARG. It ran over the hiatus after S2 so that's the ideal time to have a look at it.
If you really want to read back over the ARG and maybe play a few of the puzzles I can give you some links (PM me).

About the black and white thing. I've noticed that myself, it's definitely about dividing things into groups on some level (don't forget the black and white stones in S1 and lockes black and white eyes in S1 and probably a bunch of other things). Good and evil, us and them, fantasy and reality. I think one of the central themes is duality and people having two sides to them. Bad Twin is probably another example of that.
