Law enforcement officials can trace ordinary cellphone numbers and learn critical information about the users, including who they called, who called them, where they called and where they called from. They can also use wiretaps to record cellphone conversations. Often, that information is used to build a case against a suspected criminal, Sills said.

"It's becoming more important than the ability to know what vehicle the individual has," he said. "There's constant communication on those things."

But prepaid cellphones —- which account for about 14 percent of the U.S. market —- can thwart the investigative process, Sills said. The phones appeal to many innocent users —- teenagers, people who lack stable credit, light users of mobile phone services and others looking to control their monthly bills. But would-be wrongdoers have also found them useful because they require no contracts and no registration. Prepaid phones come with a fixed amount of minutes. When the minutes are exhausted, users can either throw the phones away or buy more minutes.

When law enforcement officials find a prepaid cellphone during the investigation of a crime, there is no record of a phone number or an account to trace.

"We have no way of finding out whose phone it is," Sills said."

This is partially correct. (Never trust the AJC for completely accurate info)
A prepaid phone can be tracked just like any other cell phone as long as you know who the user is. The reason they are so popular among criminals is because they will use them then dispose of them every couple of days. If you continue to use it like a regular cell phone you can, in fact, be tracked - it uses the same exact system as any other cell phone, only the billing platform is different.

That being said - if Tachyon could find them, so can the Order.

So are we supposed to understand that Tachyon just left that package there a little before Daniel found it, or that she put it there earlier and they never saw it?

I don't really like the jealous side of Daniel.
I really hope that Jonas doesn't turn out to be apart of the order. That would be really bad.
The Nancy Drew books must have some connect with Nikki Bower. And all the X and Y's don't really make sense. The chromosomes thing seems kinda resonable. There are 11 x's and 3 y's. Don't know what that would mean.

That is what I was thinking. It is all about tracking the location of the phone, not the user. With the 3 dum dums showing everybody and telling everybody where they are going, I am sure the Order can pull up the "grids" or whatever to find a cell phone being used tin the mountains. Plus, if that really is Jonas' parents' house, wouldn't there be like a public record of the property location?

With eleven x's and three y's, you could build four women and three men. I can't imagine what that would have to do with anything, though.

Pinklady, I'm thinking it's possible that Jonas planted it, and that something in the Drew books is going to trigger him.

EDIT: Oops, trigger Daniel.

That is a neat thought, kind of a Manchurian Danielbeast thing?
We do know that someone's been stirring up the mush between his ears. What do you think he could have been programmed to do?

Also, he said Jonas is still using his cell phone. Who's he calling? I didn't really think he had many friends.

Haha, oddly enough, Luzduz, that came to my mind too... I was thinking, Nancy Drew = Queen of Hearts?

So LLP, you're convinced Jonas is not to be trusted?

is this why she sent the package?
That was put up before she came back to save Daniel!

Well, do we have any other hand written note by Tachyon that can be used to compare the handwritting? Or heck, do we have anything hand written by JONAS?

I don't trust Jonas...I've been flipping and flopping and the fact that he won't keep his cell phone off is really selfish. So selfish he's evil.

Actually, "a subtle clue I drew" can have either five or six syllables, depending on how you pronounce it. (subtle can be one or two syllables)

I don't think it's important, but good looking out~
i really don't want to harp on this cause i don't think it's important, but i can't imagine how you could pronounce subtle with just one syllable.

anyway, back to your regularly scheduled posting...

I also said subtle quite a bit to myself and cannot say it with one syllable.
