Oh, it got worse after the party. I had an idiot actually ask me if it bothered me to be at Anderson's first birthday party. I was like...um, NO? Evidently it bothers other people that I go to baby birthday parties without children of my own. Gah. Let's just say my weekend deteriorated from there.

Man, I *wish* I could get myself un-welcomed from my in-laws' events... I've never seen a bigger bunch of negative people than her family.
My wife and I tried really hard to have kids for awhile. In 2000, she had a miscarriage. It totally devastated her emotionally, and I've never been convinced that it's worth the risks, and now that she's over 30 and diabetic (which contributed to the first miscarriage, I'm sure), any pregnancy would be high-risk. So we've sorta gotten used to the idea that we're free of kids and will be forever. And yet the mother-in-law constantly bitches that she has no grand-kids. It's apparently not enough that there's always a chance that my wife's brother might eventually meet someone

Wow, I didnt know there were really people that stupid out there. I mean I see them portrayed in movies and I have read about them in books but I havent really ever encountered one of that extreme myself.
Sorry you were the unfortunate one to stumble upon one of these rare breeds, kas.
