what brand did you have that died on you.
I have a gateway now and it's been GREAT! I've had it for 4 years and other than a few minor things I could fix myself I haven't had any problems with it

yeah, everyone has told me that Gateway and Dell are the best way to go. you might want to make sure, if you are geting a new one, if you ever want to upgrade to Vista, to get one that is Vista ready.

mine isnt, and to upgrade it would be a pain in the rear.

I don't really want Vista...or at least no time soon...there are too many issues with it right now and hardly any programs work with it as of yet

I have a Dell at work and a Gateway at home...Maybe our computer guy at work can hook me up...ooooo...I think I'll be putting a call into Richard today! :-D

me either, but eventualy its going to be one of those required things you need. new OS's suck.

Quite true! That's where Richard comes in...I know a good bit about computers, but I'm always open to suggestions (as long as they're not insanely expensive suggestions! ;))
