Anyway, EllieMae..
I'm sorry you've felt like crap today.
I hope the cornbread helped!
I've been having a low-energy, sleepy day..
and I thought I was addicted to this website BEFORE..
now I feel OBLIGATED to be at its service 24/7 or as much as possible.
I've made it my baby!
Oh well, I've been getting used to the new format and my new role.
I'll strike a balance soon.

I used to have a serious problem with migraines, but I don't anymore. I also got neuralgia (nerve pain) a lot (from having shingles x2 in my 30's.) Although that is statistically almost unheard of, immune systems of autistics are highly compromised. In fact, I just got over having 3 infections at once, just last week!!!
Anyway, 1200 mg neurontin has straightened all that out for me--migraine-wise. Now, I may have to go up to 1600 for the neuralgia.. at least once a day, I feel like my leg goes through an electric socket. Seriously!!
That's horrible! Are you better this week?? They put me on medication because of constant headaches that have an ugly tendency of turning into migraines but it's still not helping all that much...ooo I need to get a refill speaking of!

lol I think that may be just you...although my brother did crank up the electric fence (well the collar) to the highest setting, handed it to me and told me to walk over to the mailbox one time when I was about 6-7 and had NO idea what the collar was other than something the dog wore (NOT at the highest setting lol) but that's nothing compared to REAL electric shock...that just knocked me on my butt cause I was little lol

You know Jess, neurontin is used "off label" for migraines. It is "on label" for seizures (as a supplement but not a main med,) and totally on for neuralgia. The additional effect of helping migraines only helps some people at higher doses. I've been pretty lucky.
I haven't had a migraine in over a month now. The neuralgia doesn't last but 2 mins or less, but it is INTENSE. When I had shingles, I had the 2 min thing off and on all day, but now it is just once a day. I wouldn't mind a med increase on the neurontin, though.
I see my neurologist/psychiatrist (He's double board certified) next Tues.

Marbella, those problems sound so awful compared to my headache. It's finally gone tonight, but I suffered most of the day. I've tried a few prescription meds, but either they didn't work or I hated the side effects. OTC meds work if I take them soon enough, but the migraine was already strong when I woke up. Anyhoo, now I'm wide awake and I should be asleep. I hate having to get up in the mornings. It's nice getting off early in the afternoon, though.

Well, the 1st time I had shingles, it was the classic "girdle" type, where it wraps its way from your lower back around to the belly button area. The second time, it went down my left leg. It hurt my left foot so much I had to drag it. I felt like hornets were stinging my big toe. It's nowhere near THAT bad.. but just out of the blue, I'll feel a two min or so shock or itch in that same foot now.

Yeah my cousin is on neurontin for seizures but I know a lot of meds are used "off label" for migraines...I'm on nortriptalyne which is actually an anti-depressant, but I need it for migraines not depression...strange stuff medicines are huh?

I'm always scared I'll get shingles, because I never had the chicken pox. I don't know if I'm immune or not, but my mom exposed me to all the kids who had chicken pox when I was little. They didn't have the vaccine back then, I don't think.
Cloud, electrocution's no fun, so I've heard. Someone sent me a pic today of a person who had peed on an electric fence. So graphic. Don't ever try that.
