Ok when I put 14259551770YOU in, it did something different than before.. instead of just telling me the PW was wrong, a bunch of random code popped up and said the file was corrupt?
Anyone else wanna try 14259551770YOU
Normally it says:
"Encrypted file: CRC failed in /Users/michelle/Desktop/53454d494f54494353.rar (password incorrect ?)
No files to extract"
With that PW it says
"øse0`À„Z“vLi4YõcYd>«.·œ ø ]$+?Œ‚ÆàT>HæÒ'ÜM ÿ϶9ìXƒÿÉÈo™^sÙtûéªûvz?ã«•??ô–~>1Õœ¥Û§7¸*?„I-=Î=5ØPÉο?›#pÀAê?âô?ì}?¡Î®†ö?ÍûD^çÖ

Nah, that happened to me when I typed in "notcool" because I was getting frustrated with password-guessing.

My two cents, from a story standpoint, the numbers on the lincense wouldn't make sense as a pw, because op would know them. Tigerlily suggested that maybe it's the UPC code of a Nancy Drew book?

Well we need to think about this puzzle logicaly. Just picking random things from the show and using it wont solve anything.
In the past hasn't she given exsactly what is needed to solve the puzzles. Why not start at the begining of the puzzle.
The note and the books.
Has anyone confirmed all the names of the books?

I'm thinking it has to do with "The Secret of the Old Clock" which was Nancy Drew's first book. The hands on the clock point to the 11 and the 3.
ugh
"In the original released in April 1930, Nancy is a 16 year-old high school graduate, who desires to help the poor, struggling relatives of Josiah Crowley, recently deceased."
LOL CROWLEY WTF?!

I just tried every tag from "youtubers secret language" and "first blog/dorkiness prevails" [where it started]... ugh, makes my head hurt. I'm still combing for any ties, but eeeeeeehhhhh, too much.

Umm, because there was a lot of confusion on the XX/Xy thing.
IF it is an XX/Xy problem (and I don't know that it is):
X's are digits 0-9.
y's are letters a-f.
THEN you scramble them together to make hex pairs to spell something out.
If it's and XX/Xy puzzle, the end password will be 7 characters, because 14 characters divided by two to make it hex is 7.
If you don't understand, the XX/Xy problem from Drop 5 is explained in this video:

Yeah, we were talking about that in the other thread-- the 3/11 (2:55) plus crowley seemed too much to be a coincidence. I've tried so much stuff from that book its not even funny.
Not that we should stop...
Then again, EVERYTHING seems too much to be a coincidence.

Hmmmm. What if it has something to do with the first Nancy Drew book but ... maybe a specific reference to a passage in the book? Mebbe the
3rd chapter
11th paragraph,
line two and the 55th word?
Just a thought.
