I haven't gotten through the whole thread. Just wanted to comment here.mellie3204 wrote:Well! Now I don't know what to think. I still have a strong, strong dislike for Alex, but... I trust Jonas's opinion.
The only things I have to contribute right now is the definition of meridian from Wiktionary:
*Noun*
1. An imaginary great circle on the Earth's surface, passing through the geographic poles.
2. Either half of such a great circle, all points of which have the same longitude.
3. (astronomy) A great circle passing through the poles of the celestial sphere and the zenith for a particular observer.
4. (mathematics) A similar line on any general surface of revolution.
5. Any of the longitudinal pathways on the body along which the acupuncture points are distributed.
6. The highest point or state of conciousness and enlightment achievable by a human.
*Adjective*
1. Meridional; relating to a meridian.
2. Relating to noon
I think number 6 above is interesting and not a definition I had heard before?
Off to watch this vid a few more times.
This is really interesting. Thanks so much Mellie!
It seems like the Hymn Of One may look at the human mind as a metaphorical equivalent of geography. This would explain the fascination with astronomy and longitude. The human brain is the world; everything surrounding it is the universe. ?? Does that make sense? I think that's actually pretty interesting.
Also, it is interesting that Jonas's step-grandmother was killed by a drunk driver. Apparently this has had no impact on Alex or Jonas's opinion of alcohol consumption.
And boy, Daniel is a real magnet for Hymn Of One daughters! First Bree, now Alex!
I wonder if Alex was raised the same way that Bree was?

I would think that it would have more of an influence on Alex. I mean it was her mom. But I think that Jonas, listening to his father about how she was "full of caca", that he wouldn't take it to heart.JustAnotherLonelyGirl. wrote: Also, it is interesting that Jonas's step-grandmother was killed by a drunk driver. I hadn't noticed it to this extent, but I have noticed that Alex is almost always wearing black/white. Does the Order have something against colors? lolChlowee wrote:I think paying attention to Alex's clothes while she appears on these videos very much exemplifies whether she is being truthful or not.
"Uncle Dan" Video, she wore black
Contents of video: A guy pulls her to the side saying "he's 19 years old!" she gets angry, and knowing people are watching her, throws a drink in his face, and flirts with Daniel all night. Also the pic of her and lucy being discovered.
"Alex is..." Video, she's wearing all black yet again, then she gives that whole speech schpeel.
"Missing Days" video, she wears a black and white spotted dress [white flowers]. I can say fairly, predominantly black.
"Lying bastards" video, she wears an all white shirt, [the camera gazes down at her blouse so u can see] while she's on the phone talking about free will, and it's my nephew, and all that jazz.
"Confrontation" Video, she wears a black shirt, with a white scarf looking thing on her shoulders, While talking about you don't know what its like to be me... I didn't know they would do that... the order would never do that...
Now up to date "Hug it out" she wears all white. just saying, very symbolic,
i apologize if im repeating this though.
PS - I'm almost certain we've seen Lucy wearing white. Weird.

Alex's wardrobe
I don't know. There could be something to this, but I also think the actress just looks good in black and white. She has that whole fair complexion with dark hair and eyes.

You are definitely close to what a lot of practitioners of Old Religions believe....that our bodies, and our relationships with our surroundings are basically tiny versions of Earth and her surroundings in the Universe. Many ancient mythologies came from applying human attributes to celestial bodies and occurences. Oh and lots of people believe that either metaphorically or literally, that meridians of energy in humans = Energy lines and/or Ley lines of Earth. Lots of holy places were built along these lines because of the energy at these points (Stonhenge, the pyramids, Native American medicine wheels, etc.)JustAnotherLonelyGirl. wrote: It seems like the Hymn Of One may look at the human mind as a metaphorical equivalent of geography. When the Scooby Gang were at Topanga Canyon, I read that that area is a big energy point. Not sure if this is even important at all, but it is sorta cool I guess.

Oh god yeah, I forgot about that, sheesh, her skin looked oily enough to fry an egg on. Grossnicole_x wrote:I agree. Plus that whole vid where her face was so shiny it was blinding. Not a good look. i'm going with meridians/astrological connection. order of denderah and all. not sure what i think about the black/white alex clothing, do the creators have a budget for wardrobe, or are the actors just kind of picking their own clothes?
i like the alex ambiguity, though i agree that the good/evil/good twist is getting a bit old. i guess that is how life can be though.
jonas is now a bit more suspicious again. how did he just happen to come along bree, and if he knew about his "caca" step gram's religious oddness, how come it didn't ring a bell when he met bree?
hmmm....
