it's just that...i've watched many cases of friends of mine that had a relation for years, and decided to get married because of their families...2 months later they were divorced...
Marriage mistake number 4: Getting married/choosing a marriage partner to please others.

xeniph, i wouldnt get married to someone just to please others, but if it was really important to her, and i was sure that it was with her that i wanted to share my life, i wouldnt see why not

I wouldn't date a man who wouldn't marry me. To me, it's a sign of respect. Otherwise, it's sort of like, "Yeah, I love you now, but I'm not willing to commit to you in any material form. I want to have an out, just in case."

Quite honestly, I believe the decision of marriage is one of the most important decisions in life.

But your viewpoint, Jo, is quite characteristic of many of the opinions nowadays.

Oh, I was just saying that I could identify the mistake that your friends made. NEVER get married just to please others. To please your partner, I suppose, but if it is not ultimately YOUR decision there is a high probability that you will come to resent her for "forcing" you to get married.

Anyway, let's not get into all that now. Back to rocks...*sigh*

Lol. Well, the actual "name" for this particular set is the "Seven Major Mistakes made when Deciding about Marriage." There are, as the name suggests, seven.
