So, I have two Evans in my class? Should we use a last name initial to avoid confusion?

Ms. Divine: Thank you, Colin. Your clarification has been helpful. Your attitude is not. Now, please be seated.

Colin [sits on top of his desk] Ok I am Sitting

Colin, please sit down in your chair. I apologize for not being more specific.

Ms. L mysteriously disappeared into the night, never to be heard from again.

Kelly: (watches the total confusion and laughs. returns to her study and writes in her journal. places the journal back into her safe, and seals the combination. walks out of her study with her Lous Vuitton suitcase and two garbage bags full of something, locks the four locks on her door and heads up to her class room.
once in her class room, she pushes all the desks to the back, and places a bunch of chairs and pillows from out of her garbage bag on the floor. Smiles and sits at her desk. Opens her suit case and takes out her books for her lesson plan. She turns on her IPod stereo and listens to Timbaland softly.
She throws the official books on the floor and kicks them under the filing cabinet behind her.
She waits patiently for her students to come into class.)

Kelly: (writes on the white board with Pink markers

"Free Will: Right or privledge?")

Hey guys! Welcome to my class. In this class we will be exploring the two
sides of the Hymn Of One, and their beliefs. We will also be comparing the Hymn of One to other religions. We will be doing a lot of discussions and debates.

You may be wondering why I set up the class room the way it is. I want you to feel comfortable. I want you to feel welcome. I want you to feel like you are just sitting around with friends and discussing the up sides and down sides to our lives after we choose to become members of the Hymn Of One, which by the way will be a topic later on in the class, so start thinking!

So what do you think? shall we start! I don't care if you say no, because we are! haha!

Today we are over come by the notion of freedom. We are constantly bombarded with the idea that us, as the bigger countries of North America, meaning Canada and USA, are "Free." How have we achieved this freedom?

I want some real thoughts on this topic. Not what your elders have taught you to say!

Are we REALLY free? And how have we earned this freedom? OR have we really earned freedom? At what cost is it to us that we are free? At what cost is it to our surroundings, people or environment, that we are free?

Also, does it really mean that we are free, or that we have become more dependent on the "freedom givers" (political figures, technologies, military, etc).

I want to hear your thoughts. Speak out and discuss. Debate!

For home work I would like to see at least two pages, hand written on this topic.
I want to hear real world examples! No holding back!

Colin [Smirks] I am glad you feel that way. But you know what would make me feel comfortable? [Walks over to the pillows and reveals a knife, he cuts open all the pillows and scatters the stuffing all over] As you can see by my demonstration, Free Will Is a right.

Kelly: (laughs)

nice knife! Swiss or Chinese?

You know who makes the best knives? Grohmann.

So after Colin's clear display of distructive freedom, what type of examples does his actions bring to mind?

War perhaps?

So what does our freedom cost the global community. If we are to be free, why are other nations not allowed to be free, under war time circumstances?

Evan: [Chuckles a little at the display, though he saves his own pillow. It's quite comfortable.] "There's no way everyone can ever be really free. In order for one person to have freedom, another has to be subjugated. Let's say a cashier at a store wants to go to a party, but has to leave early to do it. That cashier is allowed the freedom to leave early, but that means another cashier has to work extra hours to cover the registers until the next cashier comes in." [Shrugs.] "It's Einstein. Relativity. Equal but opposite reaction to one person's freedom. The catch is, maybe next week the cashier that had to stay later will get to go home early, and the one that left early will have to stay late to cover. It's one big chain of cause and effect."

Kelly: So is freedom just a pretty fairy tale? Or is it a reality.

(smiles happily at the fact her class is taking part.)

Evan: [Shrugs and leans back in his chair, pillowing his hands under his head.] "Should be reality. Doesn't mean it always is."

Kelly:
So if this is the case, are we independent to our selves. OR do we depend on the people who claim we are free, for our choices and means of well being both physically and emotionally?
